Job Summary

The Project Manager I (PM I) is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering small to moderate, well-defined projects and supporting larger initiatives under guidance. This role manages multiple project activities, balances competing priorities, and ensures milestones are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to stakeholder expectations.

The PM I demonstrates strong organizational discipline, effective communication, and consistent application of project management fundamentals across the project lifecycle, with increasing autonomy and accountability.

Role Description

Project Planning & Delivery 

  • Plan and manage multiple project activities, prioritizing conflicting demands to ensure timely delivery of milestones 

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, timelines, and milestones 

  • Facilitate project kickoff meetings and regular team meetings; document actions and ensure follow-through 

  • Own the creation and maintenance of project plans, status reports, meeting notes, and core project artifacts 

  • Track project tasks, deliverables, and deadlines; escalate risks and issues as appropriate 

Communication & Stakeholder Support 

  • Proactively communicate project goals, progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders and team members 

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for day-to-day project communication and coordination 

  • Manage stakeholder expectations through regular updates and clear, audience-appropriate communication 

  • Build productive working relationships with internal teams, partners, and customers 

Scope, Risk & Change Management 

  • Define and manage project scope within assigned initiatives 

  • Identify project risks and issues, develop mitigation plans, and track them through resolution 

  • Support change control by documenting change requests, assessing impact, and ensuring approvals are obtained 

Financial, Resource & Quality Management 

  • Monitor project budgets, resource allocation, and hours against plan 

  • Track and report financial and resourcing status, including forecast and variance awareness 

  • Review deliverables for accuracy and compliance with project requirements and quality standards 

  • Support invoicing and billing activities as required 

Team Leadership & Methodology Application 

  • Lead assigned project teams by coordinating work, assigning responsibilities, and supporting collaboration 

  • Resolve day-to-day delivery challenges and support conflict resolution within the team 

  • Apply Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies based on project needs 

  • Adapt project management practices to organizational standards

Skill Level Requirements

  • The ability to effectively utilize applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook to enhance productivity and perform various tasks efficiently - Intermediate

  • Ability to oversee and direct projects to completion, ensuring goals are met, resources are utilized efficiently, and stakeholders are satisfied - Intermediate

  • Expertise in various project management frameworks such as Agile, Waterfall, and Scrum, to effectively plan, execute, and close projects - Intermediate

  • Proficiency in facilitating Agile Scrum practices, guiding teams through the Scrum framework to ensure efficient and successful project delivery - Intermediate

  • Competence in utilizing tools like Jira, Trello, MS Project, or DevOps to plan, track, and manage project progress and resources - Intermediate

  • Familiarity with the operational mechanisms, hierarchical setup, and the overall framework of SHI, enabling effective navigation and utilization of internal processes - Intermediate

Other Requirements

  • 2–4 years of project management experience 

  • Experience leading small to moderate projects with increasing autonomy 

  • Demonstrates hands-on application across most PMI process groups 

  • Beginning to assume accountability for schedule, scope, and risk 

Education & Certifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 

  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) – Expected 

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) – In Progress 

  • PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) – Optional 

The estimated annual pay range for this position is $60,000 - $110,000 which includes a base salary and bonus.. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
