The Role:

Fliff is seeking a Promotions Director to own the strategy, execution, and optimization of all customer-facing promotional offers. This role will be responsible for designing and deploying promotions that drive acquisition, retention, and monetization while maintaining strong unit economics and regulatory compliance.  These promotions should be laser focus at the customer level but also lead the building of enterprise promotions and business level.
This is a highly analytical role for a promotions expert who has operated inside leading real-money or social gaming platforms and understands how to deliver the right offer, to the right customer, at the right time—at scale.

  • Directly influence customer acquisition efficiency and lifetime value
  • Drive engagement and retention through intelligent, targeted offers
  • Build enterprise-wide promotions that are desired but Fliff customers and prospects that scale responsibly
  • Sit at the intersection of marketing, product, analytics, and compliance
  • The Promotions Director will be the single owner of Fliff’s promotional ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promotions Strategy & Ownership
  • Own the end-to-end promotions strategy across the customer lifecycle:
  • Acquisition offers
  • Retention and reactivation promotions
  • Loyalty and VIP programs
  • Seasonal and event-based offers
  • Enterprise-wide promotional initiatives
  • Design promotional mechanics including bonuses, credits, multipliers, free-to-play incentives, and custom offers
  • Define offer guardrails to balance growth, engagement, and profitability

  • Customer Targeting & Personalization
  • Partner with Analytics and CRM teams to:
  • Segment customers based on behavior, value, and lifecycle stage
  • Deliver personalized, behavior-driven offers
  • Suppress offers to unprofitable or incentive-abusing cohorts
  • Continuously refine targeting logic to improve efficiency and ROI
  • Run surveys post on enterprise campaigns to evaluate the quality and interest of users

  • Offer Economics & Performance
  • Own promotional cost modeling, forecasting, and performance analysis
  • Evaluate offer ROI, LTV impact, breakage, and abuse risk
  • Establish clear KPIs and success metrics for all promotions
  • Make data-driven recommendations on scaling, adjusting, or sunsetting offers

  • Execution & Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Work closely with:
  • CRM / Lifecycle Marketing on deployment (email, push, SMS, in-app)
  • Product and Engineering on promotion tooling and capabilities
  • Legal and Compliance to ensure all offers meet regulatory standards
  • Finance to align promotional spend with budget and forecasts
  • Ensure flawless execution across platforms and channels

  • Testing & Optimization
  • Design and run structured A/B and multivariate tests on:
  • Offer types
  • Value levels
  • Eligibility rules
  • Timing and frequency
  • Build a culture of disciplined experimentation and learning around promotions

What Success Looks Like:

  • First 30 Days
  • Audit existing promotions, tools, and performance internally and external analysis of competitors
  • Establish clear ownership, KPIs, and reporting frameworks
  • Identify quick-win optimizations and risk areas
  • Launch improved targeting or offer logic

  • Within 6 Months
  • Build a scalable, enterprise-grade promotions engine
  • Demonstrate measurable improvements in retention, engagement, and LTV and drive incremental behavior
  • Reduce promotional waste and incentive abuse
  • Become the internal authority on promotional strategy and economics

Ideal Background & Experience:

  • 6–10+ years of experience in promotions, CRM, or growth roles
  • Direct experience running promotions at:
  • FanDuel, DraftKings, Underdog, PrizePicks, or similar social/mobile gaming platforms
  • Deep understanding of:
  • Promotional mechanics and offer structures
  • Customer segmentation and lifecycle management
  • Promotional cost modeling and ROI analysis
  • Strong analytical background, dashboards, or analytics tools (hands-on or closely partnered).  SQL experience a plus.
