Homebased US

As a Pricing Specialist in commercial proposals and contracts at Parexel, you will be in a client-facing role responsible for developing and executing initial pricing for sponsor proposals. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute initial pricing for sponsor proposals based on client requirements.
  • Cost services accurately using prior CRO experience and industry standards.
  • Utilize Parexel templates to create final proposals in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
  • Build and manage budgets using advanced Excel skills.
  • Communicate pricing methodology clearly and professionally to clients.
  • Ensure proposals and contracts are client-ready, accurate, and delivered on time.
  • Provide excellent customer service, maintaining persistence and professionalism throughout negotiations.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Previous CRO experience in costing services for proposals and contracts.
  • Superior Excel skills, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and budget modeling.
  • Strong communication skills for client interactions and internal collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in pricing and documentation.
  • Strong understanding of the different operational aspects of clinical study conducts in different regions across the world, which may be demonstrated by previous work experience in the industry.
  • Has standard knowledge of managing client contract processes and accounts, reporting.
  • Broad experience in proposals and contract management., the principles, contractual terms, pricing structures, pricing tools and data systems (e.g. Salesforce).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant software (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, Databases).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of cash flow and revenue recognition.
  • 3 - 5 years of previous experience in project support, finance, contracting, or proposals in a CRO or similar environment. Previous experience in proposal development is a plus. Multinational and multicultural companies experience is also a plus.
  • Ability to work irregular and/or extended hours as needed to meet the client’s proposal deadline.
  • Supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Effective escalation management understanding when to bring in support and/or escalate difficult situations and interactions.
  • Ability to proactively lead internal meetings and with clients.
  • Ability to negotiate client discussions with minimal support
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science, Business, Languages or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA preferred.
