Come join the MapMyFitness team at Outside as a QA Engineer. In this role, you will help ensure the quality and reliability of MapMyRun, MapMyWalk, MapMyRide, and our other fitness tracking applications used by millions of athletes worldwide. You will work closely with our team of engineers alongside our peers in growth marketing, product, and design.

Our North Star is to equip our users with the very best tools to track, analyze, and improve their active lifestyles.

What you will do:

  • Design and execute comprehensive test plans for web, iOS, and Android applications
  • Perform manual testing including functional, regression, and exploratory testing
  • Document and track bugs with clear reproduction steps and severity assessments
  • Collaborate with engineers, product, and design to understand requirements and identify edge cases
  • Identify opportunities for test automation and begin building automated test coverage
  • Participate in sprint planning and provide QA estimates for new features
  • Advocate for quality throughout the development lifecycle

This describes you:

  • You have 4+ years experience in software quality assurance
  • You have strong manual testing skills and a keen eye for detail
  • You are comfortable reading and writing code in at least one programming language (Python, JavaScript, or Java preferred)
  • You have exposure to test automation frameworks (Selenium, Appium, Cypress, or similar) and are eager to grow these skills
  • You understand API testing concepts and have experience with tools like Postman
  • You are familiar with bug tracking and test management tools (Jira, TestRail, or similar)
  • You are a strong communicator in a fully remote environment
  • You can clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • You are able to work independently in situations of ambiguity
  • You have a passion for quality and a user-first mindset

Nice to have:

  • Passion for fitness, running, cycling, or other endurance activities
  • Experience testing mobile applications on iOS and Android
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests
  • Experience with performance or load testing
  • Familiarity with the MapMyFitness apps or active user community

What We Offer:

Entirely remote jobs that could be performed in Colorado: Employees can expect to be paid a salary of  between $70,000 to $90,000.  Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission . Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, Flexible Time Away,  sick leave, and more.  This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors
