The Opportunity

As a QA Engineer you will be part of a growing team that is building the most exciting live event technology company on the planet.  You will report directly to the Head of QA and will collaborate directly with the CTO, software developers, designers, product team, salespeople, client service, product owners and other senior team members to solve problems and deliver the highest caliber product to our powerful and influential clients. You will have the benefit of extensive autonomy to explore and innovate for the betterment of our products.

Work-Life

This role is 100% remote with an optional work environment at our Santa Monica office, located on the 3rd Street Promenade. Most teams run West Coast Hours with lots of autonomy. At this time we are only able to hire US Citizens or active US Green Card holders


Responsibilities

  • Define and Drive QA Strategy: Design and implement scalable, maintainable automated test strategies that spans across manual and automated functional testing across web, mobile, and API platforms. Leverage modern tools and frameworks to ensure early defect detection.
  • Hands-On End-to-End Testing: Conduct functional testing across web, mobile, and APIs. Validate complete user workflows from frontend to backend, ensuring seamless integration, data flow, and system behavior across platforms and environments.
  • Own Automated Test Coverage: Create, maintain, and scale automated test suites to cover user journeys and edge cases.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with developers, product managers, UX designers, and finance team to clarify acceptance criteria, define test requirements, and embed quality checks early in the development lifecycle. Actively participate in Scrums, stand-ups, planning, grooming of stories.
  • Diagnose Issues: Investigate bugs and system inconsistencies with precision, documenting findings with detailed repro steps and impact analysis.
  • Elevate QA Practices: Champion continuous improvement of QA tools, processes, and reporting. Identify gaps, propose enhancements, and drive adoption.
  • Lead by Example: Share QA best practices, coding standards, and automation strategies to foster continuous learning and improvement across the team. Provide guidance through test plan reviews, pair testing, and knowledge sharing, while supporting team members and promoting consistency in quality across all test efforts.
  • Champion a Quality-First Culture: Advocate and foster a shared responsibility for product excellence throughout engineering, product, and customer success teams.
  • Stay Curious: Continuously explore the full Tixr product ecosystem to deepen understanding of its architecture, user flows, and business impact. Proactively identify opportunities to enhance quality—both in code and user experience—and contribute thoughtful, data-informed suggestions for improvement from both technical and customer-centric perspectives.

 Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Software Quality Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, best practices, and the software development lifecycle.
  • Proven ability to create, maintain, and execute comprehensive end-to-end manual and  automated test suites across web and mobile platforms.
  • Hands-on experience in Agile Scrum environments and working with tools such as JIRA, or similar.
  • Proficient in debugging and observability tools for both desktop and mobile environments.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; thrives in fast-paced environments.
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new technologies and frameworks.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and projects concurrently.
  • Highly proactive, collaborative, and results-driven.
  • Exceptional communication and documentation skills with acute attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with commercial and open-source test automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, Postman, RestAssured, and TestNG (or equivalents).
  • Contributions to QA frameworks or internal tooling improvements
  • Exposure to data quality testing and ensuring the accuracy of financial data.
  • Experience with the Git version control system.
  • Understanding of CI/CD practices and implementation.
  • Background in the ticketing, live events, music, SaaS, or entertainment industries.
  • Experience working with modern databases including both relational and NoSQL systems.
  • FinTech or financial services experience, with familiarity in validating payment flows, transaction integrity, reporting and regulatory compliance within QA processes.
  • Security-focused QA experience, including testing for vulnerabilities, validating security compliance, and ensuring data protection best practices.
