Design, build, and maintain automated web test suites (Cucumber/Java, Playwright/TypeScript), execute cross-browser and responsive testing via BrowserStack, create test plans, manage defect lifecycle, and collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Design to ensure release readiness.
Role Overview
As a QA Engineer, you are a professional with a strong background in technology (such as Computer Science, Web Development, or Design) responsible for certifying that all project deliverables meet our rigorous quality goals.
Moving beyond manual testing, you will assist in creating automated testing infrastructure that ensures our digital product development is ready for launch. You will help build our automated web testing suite using Cucumber (Java), validate middleware using Playwright(TypeScript), and leverage BrowserStack to guarantee cross-browser and cross-device excellence.
You will work closely with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to carry out tasks that prepare our deliverables for production. You will report to our Engineering Project Manager, who will manage QA delivery and provide onboarding, training, and career development.
Your Day & Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for ensuring that our app and web development meet all design and business requirements across all relevant devices and browsers, while continuously contributing to the iterative improvement of our QA process. Your day-to-day will include:
- Create Testing Automation: Designing, building, and maintaining our automated web testing suite using Cucumber (Java) and testing middleware flows using Playwright (TypeScript).
- Comprehensive Testing: Executing detailed test cases covering functional, negative, and edge scenarios, utilizing BrowserStack for robust responsive and cross-browser testing.
- Defect Lifecycle Management: Managing the full defect lifecycle—writing clear bug reports, providing objective feedback to developers, and performing retesting and regression checks.
- Strategic Planning: Creating Test Plans and test cases to verify and validate project requirements. Collaborating on entry/exit criteria and obtaining approval for overall testing strategy, methodology, and standards.
- Agile Collaboration: Working closely with the engineering team to foster knowledge of code patterns, participating in sprint planning, and promoting QA productivity through automation tools and best practices.
- Communication: Accurately reporting issues with clear reproduction steps, providing status updates on assignments, meeting time estimates, and effectively communicating findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders (including customers and vendors if needed).
