Aether builds computer-vision–powered tools and workflow software for home-services companies (roofing, solar, HVAC, landscaping, and more). Our platform uses advanced AI and 3D modeling to turn photos and aerial imagery into instant measurements, designs, and sales workflows that help contractors close jobs faster and operate more efficiently.
We are a Y Combinator–backed company and have raised $4M to date. Our customers use Aether in real production environments every day, and our technology sits at the intersection of computer vision, mobile capture, and operational software.
The RoleWe are looking for a React Native Developer to help build and scale Aether’s mobile application across iOS and Android. This app is a critical part of our product: it connects field data capture (camera, photos, video) with AI-powered processing and back-office workflows.
You’ll work closely with product, ML, and backend engineers to deliver a fast, reliable, and polished mobile experience. Most of the app is built in React Native, with performance-critical features (such as camera pipelines) implemented natively.
What You’ll DoBuild and maintain a cross-platform mobile app using React Native (TypeScript)
Implement high-quality, production-grade mobile UI and navigation
Integrate with native iOS and Android modules, especially for camera features
Collaborate with backend and ML teams to connect mobile capture to AI workflows
Optimize performance, reliability, and user experience across devices
Help define best practices for mobile architecture as the product scales
Strong experience with React Native in production apps
Solid understanding of mobile fundamentals (navigation, state, performance)
Experience integrating or working alongside native iOS (Swift/Obj-C) and/or Android (Kotlin/Java) code
Comfort working in a fast-moving startup environment
Product-oriented mindset: you care about usability, not just code
Bonus: experience with camera APIs, image/video capture, or computer vision pipelines
Experience building apps with camera features
Familiarity with offline capture, background uploads, or field-use apps
Previous startup or YC-company experience
Work on real, hard problems at the intersection of AI, mobile, and the physical world
High ownership and direct impact on a fast-growing product
Collaborate with a deeply technical team shipping advanced computer vision systems
Competitive compensation and meaningful equity
Help define the mobile foundation of a category-defining platform
