Location: Washington, DC / Remote

Position Summary

The Reasonable Accommodations Specialist will manage and process accommodation requests for employees and applicants under federal regulations, ensuring compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA). This role requires a strong medical background to review and interpret medical documentation supporting accommodation requests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and process accommodation requests related to disability, religion, pregnancy, childbirth, and related medical conditions.
  • Review medical documentation to determine eligibility and recommend appropriate accommodations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal laws and agency policies governing reasonable accommodations.
  • Collaborate with HR, managers, and employees to implement approved accommodations.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all accommodation requests.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on accommodation procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and user experience.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Health Sciences, or related medical field (master’s preferred).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3 years in reasonable accommodations, disability management, or related compliance roles.
    • Strong knowledge of ADA, Rehabilitation Act, Title VII, and PWFA regulations.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to interpret medical documentation and apply regulatory standards.
    • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong organizational and case management abilities.
Preferred Certifications
  • Experience in federal or public sector compliance programs.
