Overview of the Position:

Receiving associate is responsible to receives and processes incoming inventory in a timely manner. Monitor PO and customer requirements to assess priority shipments.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive all products in an efficient and orderly manner in accordance with all receiving procedures, compares quantity, part numbers, and supporting documentation of items received with procurement data to ensure completeness and accuracy of order.
  • Notes inaccurate or unacceptable orders received and refuses to accept these items from delivery service.
  • Coordinate with quality to contact vendors regarding any missing PO requirements.
  • Records shortages and backordered items notifying affected parties.
  • Track all incoming freight and manage receiving hot list daily, record receiver status in ERP system.
  • Inspect products for defects and damages.
  • Stage incoming product based on sales order demands.
  • Maintain warehouse housekeeping per 5S methods.
  • Embrace/implement continuous improvement and lean principles in all activities.
  • Operate general warehouse equipment -- forklift, pallet jack, wrap, cherry-picker, etc.
  • Handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) for assigned accounts as required.
  • Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
  • Report any accidents or incidents that occur immediately to a supervisor.
  • Other duties that may be assigned.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Capable of working well independently and within attendance guidelines.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.
  • Ability to work occasional overtime.
  • Knowledge of warehouse/distribution areas of receiving and material control, AVIATION COMPONENT EXPERIENCE STRONGLY DESIRED.
  • Knowledge of good commercial packaging requirements, government specifications, and bar coding Familiar with the safe use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and customers.
Preferred Qualifications

Education / Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Experience with general warehouse equipment forklift, pallet jack, wrap (forklift certification preferred) and distribution experience.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Is frequently required to talk or listen.
  • Works in moderate noise levels.
  • Minimum travel required.
