Reporting & Scope
- Reports to: Associate Director, Maintenance & Reliability
- Manages maintenance operation results within a specified East region of fulfillment centers
- Requires proficiency in both MHE/automation systems and base building fundamentals
What You'll Do:
Regional Leadership & Execution
- Take responsibility for regional results in safety, reliability/uptime, cost, and people outcomes, ensuring consistent application of maintenance standards across sites.
- Lead implementation throughout the region, guaranteeing completion of network priorities and ongoing outcomes.
- Establish and run a strong regional operating cadence to review important metrics, remove barriers, and accelerate best-practice adoption across sites.
People Leadership
- Lead through Maintenance Managers and site leadership: mentor, develop, and hold leaders accountable to expectations, standard work, and outcomes.
- Build bench strength: talent reviews, succession planning, promotion readiness, and targeted development plans for site leaders.
- Reinforce a culture of ownership, high standards, and psychological safety-where performance and accountability are clear and consistent.
Standardization & Continuous Improvement
- Drive consistency in maintenance execution: planning and scheduling within the field, PM compliance, work quality, defect elimination, and pathways for addressing critical issues.
- Identify systemic gaps and partner with cross-functional collaborators to implement durable corrective actions.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner with Operations, Safety, Finance, Engineering and external vendors to align priorities, unblock execution, and ensure operational readiness.
What You'll Need
- 8+ years of progressive experience in maintenance, reliability, facilities, or industrial operations; multi-site leadership strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead leaders (manager-of-managers), build talent pipelines, and drive accountability.
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- Strong working knowledge of:
MHE/automation, conveyance/sortation systems, and reliability practices
1. Base building systems and facility asset fundamentals
- Established track record of advancing safety, uptime, cost, and collective performance.
- Financial competence: operating cost management, basic CAPEX/OPEX understanding, and performance tradeoffs.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned region (anticipated 30-50%, based on network needs).
