DLR Group's Texas region has an opening for a Regional Workplace Leader. This role could be based in the following cities: 

  • Dallas
  • Houston
  • Austin

About Workplace at DLR Group

DLR Group’s Workplace practice provides a suite of services to end users and developers throughout the US, including core and shell architecture, tenant improvement, interior design, workplace strategy, engineering, and building performance optimization. The distributive leadership of our Workplace studio enables us to mobilize comprehensive teams that can meet the requirements of virtually any workplace building project or program, regardless of size or location.

Position Summary 

DLR Group is seeking a Regional Workplace Leader to guide the strategic growth and performance of our Workplace sector in the Texas region. In this leadership role, you will partner with firmwide sector and regional leaders to advance market presence, strengthen client relationships, and deliver design excellence. You will lead business development strategies, support high-performing project teams, and mentor emerging talent while elevating the firm’s reputation through thought leadership and impactful work. This role is ideal for a collaborative leader who combines design insight, market awareness, and entrepreneurial drive to shape the future of the sector. 

What you will do:

  • Partner with sector and regional leadership to develop and implement strategies that support the growth and performance of the sector within the region
  • Lead business development efforts, identify new opportunities, set strategy, and cultivate lasting client relationships
  • Collaborate with design leaders, project teams, and regional leaders to pursue and deliver high-quality work
  • Promote design excellence and innovation across projects while supporting the firm’s integrated design approach
  • Serve as a recognized thought leader through industry engagement, speaking opportunities, and professional involvement
  • Represent the sector internally and externally, sharing insights, accomplishments, and strategic priorities
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop team members to support long-term growth and professional advancement
  • Participate in performance management and career development conversations for sector staff
  • Work collaboratively with leadership to align staffing, resources, and business strategies with sector goals
  • Travel as needed to support client engagement, team collaboration, project delivery, and industry events

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in a client-facing role leading large, complex projects
  • Proven ability to drive strategic growth through client relationships, market engagement, and project pursuits
  • Strong understanding of design excellence, project delivery, and integrated team collaboration
  • Strong network within the Texas Workplace market
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage clients, partners, and internal teams
  • Strong business acumen with experience contributing to strategic planning and operational performance
  • Ability to lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams while mentoring and developing emerging talent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional licensure in architecture, engineering, or interior design
  • Established industry presence with involvement in professional organizations, conferences, or publications
  • Experience leading complex, large-scale design or development projects
  • Demonstrated recognition for design excellence, thought leadership, or industry contributions
