About us:

We believe the next generation of financial services will be powered by stablecoins.

Founded in 2021, our mission at BVNK is to accelerate global money movement.

We’re building stablecoin-native infrastructure so businesses can move value instantly across borders and networks. With global licenses and T1 bank partnerships, we facilitate billions in transactions for enterprise clients like Worldpay, Deel, LianLian Global, and Rapyd.

Our technology is transforming how businesses operate globally by eliminating payment delays, reducing costs, and unlocking trapped capital.

We’re a diverse team spread across EMEA, North America, and APAC, with a shared belief that stablecoins are the new infrastructure layer for financial services, and that BVNK is at the forefront of this shift.

In 2025, we secured strategic investment from Visa, following our $50 million Series B with Haun Ventures, Coinbase Ventures, Scribble Ventures, DRW Venture Capital, Avenir, and Tiger Global. With the backing of these leading investors, we’re accelerating our growth – and we're looking for smart, ambitious people to help us build the future of financial services.

We're incredibly honored to have made Newsweek's list of The Top 100 Global Most Loved Workplaces three years running (most recently in 2025) and to have been recognised by LinkedIn as one of the Top 20 Startups in the UK in 2024.

About this role in the team:

BVNK is seeking a Regulatory Counsel to support and execute on regulatory matters across the US, while remaining deeply embedded in product advisory and day-to-day regulatory engagement.

This is a hands-on role focused on advising the business on US financial regulation, working closely with the US CEO and leadership team. You will play a key role in managing regulatory relationships, responding to regulators, and ensuring regulatory considerations are effectively integrated into business and product decisions.

The role combines practical regulatory advisory with direct regulatory engagement. You will support licensing efforts, provide clear and commercially grounded guidance to senior stakeholders, and act as a key point of contact for regulators as BVNK continues to scale in the US.

You’ll also gain direct exposure to working with Mastercard, providing visibility into large-scale enterprise payments infrastructure and regulatory environments at a global level.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

Regulatory Advisory
  • Provide clear, practical regulatory advice across US payments, money transmission, and financial services regulation.
  • Support the US CEO and senior stakeholders with commercially grounded guidance on regulatory risk and business decisions.
  • Interpret and apply regulatory requirements to new and existing products, ensuring compliance is embedded into product design and delivery.
Regulatory Engagement
  • Act as a key legal point of contact for US regulators, including drafting responses, managing enquiries, and supporting ongoing supervisory engagement.
  • Build and maintain credible, professional relationships with regulators and relevant authorities.
  • Support regulatory interactions in a way that reinforces BVNK’s reputation as a trusted and compliant operator.
Licensing and Regulatory Support
  • Support US licensing strategy and applications, including state money transmitter licences and other relevant approvals.
  • Assist with ongoing regulatory obligations, filings, and supervisory requirements.
  • Work closely with Compliance and Risk teams to ensure regulatory requirements are implemented effectively.

Product and Commercial Support

  • Advise Product, Engineering, and Commercial teams on regulatory requirements relevant to payments and financial services products.
  • Provide practical legal input on the structuring and launch of new products and features.
  • Support commercial agreements where regulatory structure is a key consideration.
Regulatory Risk and Horizon Scanning
  • Monitor regulatory developments across US financial services and assess their impact on the business.
  • Highlight emerging risks and provide clear recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Support a proactive approach to regulatory change, ensuring the business stays ahead of evolving requirements.
Legal Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with the wider BVNK Legal team on regulatory matters, product initiatives, and strategic projects.
  • Contribute to building scalable legal and regulatory processes as the business grows.

What we need from you:

  • 5–10 years of legal experience in financial services, payments, or fintech, with strong exposure to US regulatory frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of money transmission, payments law, and financial regulatory compliance.
  • Experience engaging with regulators and supporting regulatory enquiries or licensing processes.
  • Ability to translate complex regulation into clear, practical, and commercially focused advice.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of ownership.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience advising senior leadership.
  • In-house experience preferred, with a pragmatic and hands-on approach.
  • Crypto experience is beneficial but not a core requirement.

What you can expect from us:

  • Fair and competitive salary at every stage of your growth
  • Meaningful ownership in the business through our employee option scheme
  • Flexible working hours, with hybrid working at its heart
  • A culture built on passionate, growth-minded people
  • A flexible approach to holiday
  • Opportunities to travel to our offices around the world
  • An open and creative environment where you can help us define the future of BVNK, its culture, and its opportunity sets

At BVNK, we are focused on building a diverse and inclusive team. While you may not meet all of our requirements, we’d encourage you to apply if you meet the majority of our expectations. You may be a great fit for this role or another role in our team.
