Provide Colorado-specific family law consultations, draft and file court petitions using drafting software, analyze client data, advise on procedural compliance, and collaborate with product and engineering teams to improve legal drafting tools and internal templates.
We are seeking a licensed Colorado Family Law Attorney to lead consultations, prepare legal documents using our drafting software, and to provide expert product improvement recommendations specific to Colorado law. This role requires a deep understanding of Colorado family law and a proactive approach to optimizing legal tech tools for greater efficiency, compliance, and user experience.
The ideal candidate combines legal expertise with a strong interest in legal innovation and technology-driven solutions .
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct phone calls with clients post-intake and at the resolution of filing their documents -- building rapport and creating a trusting environment.
- Draft and file petitions and related legal documents using cutting edge drafting software.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, legal ops) to identify friction points and recommend improvements in the drafting software.
- Provide actionable feedback on the tool’s usability, logic, and compliance to support ongoing development.
- Analyze client data and case information to prepare legally accurate and strategically sound documents.
- Serve as the legal expert on Colorado procedural requirements and court filing practices.
- Contribute to the development of internal guidelines, templates, and best practices for Colorado-based filings.
Required Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in the state of Colorado and in good standing.
- 2+ years of legal practice experience, with a strong focus on family law, civil procedure, and related fields involving court petitions.
- Deep knowledge of Colorado legal standards, procedural rules, and court systems
- Excellent legal writing and document drafting skills.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and professional judgment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, fast-paced environment.
- Interest in legal technology and product development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with legal technology platforms (e.g., e-filing systems, document automation tools)
- Previous work in a startup or innovation-focused legal setting
- Experience providing feedback to product teams or working on user-centered legal tools
