About us:

Syndica supplies the most critical applications in Web3 with enterprise-grade RPC infrastructure and developer tools tailored for the Solana ecosystem. Joining our team means you'll be held to a high standard, technically challenged, and grow close to a group of individuals passionate about building new infrastructure technologies.

We are backed by strategic partners, investors, and advisors who are all-in on our mission: Chamath Palihapitiya of Social Capital, Steve Jang of Kindred Ventures, Joe McCann of Asymmetric, Jump Crypto, Coinbase Ventures, Solana Ventures, Circle Ventures, and many more.

About you:

  • 4+ years of professional experience in an academic-grade crypto research publishing house, conducting VC/IB/PE-style emerging technologies market analysis at an investment firm focused on crypto, or corresponding analytical domains.

  • An ability to think critically about blockchain-based businesses and their positioning in the broader context of both onchain and real-world markets.

  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple moving parts, set deadlines, coordinate feedback loops, and drive written deliverables to completion with a strong sense of ownership.

  • A collaborative ethos and a willingness to work closely with technical Research Engineers to draw out insights from onchain data. An understanding of data science concepts and an intermediary grasp of statistical analysis is required.

  • A willingness to roll up your sleeves and get things done, rolling with the punches as needed. Experience working in a remote or highly distributed team environment is a plus.

About the role:

Syndica’s Research function launched in 2023 with the aim of delivering crisp, insightful crypto analysis to the public. Since then we have established a reputation for detailed reports on a range of sectors within crypto, and our reports have quickly become a standard-bearer for knowledge creation in the industry. The Research Manager role is best understood as a ‘Product Manager’ for the Research function - the role encompasses both day-to-day execution and medium-term strategic thinking.

As a Research Manager you have a broad mandate to ensure the research function is achieving its objectives. On a day-to-day basis this means that you will work hand-in-hand with our Research Engineers to develop their sector-specific reports. You will think big picture about each crypto sector we write on, help drive analysis and draw out interesting insights, suggest areas of further inquiry for our Research Engineers, and coordinate feedback from relevant Syndica team members, including our Head of Research. You will have the opportunity to own special research projects of your own, with other members of the research team available to assist as appropriate.

You’ll also be responsible for keeping research workflows organized and on-track—leading daily huddles, maintaining content trackers, setting timelines, and monitoring ecosystem channels (Telegram, Twitter, Email) to surface relevant insights. You will manage the editorial process from first draft to final publication—reviewing and refining copy, incorporating feedback from research leads, and publishing finalized reports.

In the medium term, you will bring a fresh perspective to our publishing processes, ideate new initiatives to maximize reach and distribution, and shape innovative research projects. You will build your own point-of-view about crypto to help guide the research team’s direction as it grows. You will offer strategic thinking about each of our individual reports and help drive their evolution over time. You will collaborate with Syndica’s Infrastructure and Open Source teams on Research as-needed, gathering feedback from domain experts, leveraging proprietary data, and sourcing ideas to improve our reports.

What does success in this role look like?

  • In three months, you’re leading daily research workflows, enhancing the editorial process, and ensuring smooth collaboration across the team. Reports are shipping on time, and your early contributions are already helping sharpen analysis and improve distribution.

  • In six months, you’re fully owning the research production pipeline and have implemented improvements to increase efficiency and quality. You’re shaping the research agenda through stakeholder relationships and deep industry context, identifying new sectors and areas of inquiry to support the team’s strategic growth.

  • In twelve months, you’ve helped evolve Syndica’s research arm into the ecosystem’s go-to resource for crypto-related insights and analysis. You’ve launched successful initiatives that expanded our brand and reach. You’re a key force behind both operational excellence and strategic direction, continually identifying new research opportunities through a data-driven lens.
