Job Summary

The Scheduler will schedule all routine and non-routine medical services with various local healthcare providers for an assigned patient population. In addition, the Scheduler will perform a variety of receptionist, clerical, record keeping and miscellaneous duties in support and care of services provided in an outpatient or inpatient medical setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Daily confirmation of all on-site clinic and off-site appointments.

  • Receive, screen and coordinate telephone calls from healthcare providers.

  • Assist with maintaining and updating all provider addresses and phone numbers

  • Receive incoming correspondence and review/forward to appropriate staff.

  • Perform a variety of administrative duties including but not limited to answering phones; faxing and filing of confidential documents; and basic Internet and email utilization.

  • Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.

  • Obtain patient information at the time of admission and assist in filling out forms, relevant documents, and case histories.

  • Make and distribute daily schedules for doctors and staff.

  • Maintain and update physician and patient data.

  • Manage the front desk operations.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Associate Degree and/or certificate program preferred

  • Three years of medical clinic administrative or medical scheduling experience preferred

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $25,900.00 - $64,800.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
