About The Role

Hi, I'm Karen Salmon, the U.S. Insurance Lead here at Jane. I've been with Jane for over two years and lead a small but mighty team supporting U.S.-based clinics through the real, day-to-day complexities of insurance billing.

Our work is all about helping clinics get paid accurately and on time. We collaborate closely with payers, internal teams, and clinic staff to remove friction, clarify processes, and advocate for our customers.

We're launching our first-ever internship program on the US Insurance team, and this is where it starts. As our Revenue Cycle Management Intern, you'll work directly alongside our senior billers, learning the real mechanics of medical billing while helping us keep pace with a growing customer base. If you're studying medical billing, coding, or health information tech and want hands-on experience that actually matters, this is a great place to get it.

What Impact We're Looking For You To Make
  • Keep claims moving by following up on outstanding claim statuses and documenting outcomes clearly for the team.

  • Support accurate, timely payment posting by reviewing ERAs and EOBs under the guidance of your supervising biller.

  • Bring structure to denial trends by logging and categorizing denials so patterns are easy to spot and act on.

  • Help patients and clinics stay informed by preparing and maintaining patient statements.

  • Strengthen the team's knowledge base by keeping internal documentation current and useful for both new hires and daily reference.

What Experience We Need
  • Recently completed (or nearing completion of) a Medical Billing & Coding, Health Information Technology, or Healthcare Administration program. We're looking for candidates who are well into their coursework or already graduated, not just starting out.

  • Familiarity with core revenue cycle concepts like claims, ERAs/EOBs, and denials, whether from coursework, an externship, or hands-on experience.

  • Comfortable learning new software and tools quickly, and not afraid to ask questions when something's unclear.

  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through, especially when managing repetitive or detail-heavy tasks.

  • Able to commit to a consistent Monday-Friday schedule during standard business hours in your time zone, for the duration of the internship.

If you don't meet every single qualification but are excited about this role, we'd still love to hear from you.

More About Jane

Jane is a founder-led, high-growth SaaS company with a remote-first team working across Canada, the US, and the UK, united by our mission to help the helpers.

We build the products and tools that thousands of clinics rely on every day to run their businesses, care for their patients, and grow their communities. That level of impact means every person at Jane plays an important role in how we show up for our customers. We're all responsible for being deeply connected to their needs, obsessed with improving their experience, and proud of the difference our work makes in their day-to-day lives.

Jane is growing fast, and that growth brings exciting challenges that call for adaptability, resilience, learning agility, and humility. We're proud of what we've built and quick to admit what we don't know yet. We listen, learn, and adjust as we go. More than 70,000 businesses run on Jane which has 250,000+ practitioners interacting with our product on a daily basis and growth is continuing to accelerate.

We're also embracing the possibilities of AI, using it to work smarter, improve our systems, and create even better experiences for our customers and our team. No matter your role or team, we expect every Janer to be curious, experimenting, and finding new ways to build with AI. We'll make sure you have the tools, support, and space to explore, learn, and share what you discover along the way.

Our goal isn't just delivery - it's delight. We move quickly, communicate openly, and solve real problems together. If you're energized by ambiguity, motivated by impact, and eager to learn with others, you'll thrive at Jane.

Compensation

This is a 6-month, paid internship. Pay is set at minimum wage for your specific location, so your exact rate will depend on where you're based. We're aiming for full-time hours, but we're staying flexible as the program gets off the ground - we'll learn and adjust together as we go.

This role is fully remote, with an expectation of availability Monday through Friday during standard business hours in your time zone.

For the right person, a successful internship could lead to a permanent position on our team, which would include our full benefits package. That said, this depends on both fit and whether we have an opening available at the time, so it's a possibility we're excited about rather than a guarantee.

Jane takes job scams and candidate fraud seriously. Jane will only contact you from an @jane.app email address. We'll never contact you from a personal email, ask for payment, or request purchases during the hiring process. If something doesn't seem right, please reach out to us at [email protected] before sharing any personal information.
