About the Role

BSI America Professional Services Inc. (BSI) is looking for an experienced Safety Professional/Consultant with construction safety and Rolling Owner Controlled Insurance Program (ROCIP) ROCIP/OCIP background to join our team.

 

In this role, you’ll be the go-to safety leader on a large-scale construction project operating under a ROCIP and support other safety related projects as needed. On the large-scale construction project, you’ll be responsible for making sure every contractor and subcontractor onsite follows ROCIP safety standards, while also promoting a culture where safety is everyone’s priority.

 

What you’ll do specific to the ROCIP Project, includes, but is not limited to:

  • Lead all ROCIP safety administration and serve as the project’s primary safety contact.
  • Conduct site safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments.
  • Oversee contractor and subcontractor compliance with ROCIP requirements.
  • Deliver orientations, toolbox talks, and project-specific training.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses; prepare reports and corrective actions.
  • Track safety performance metrics and provide regular updates to project leadership.
  • Create, update, and maintain a ROCIP Injury Report in a form specified by the client.
  • Work closely with contractors, insurance representatives, and project management to resolve safety issues.
  • Review and update the construction safety provisions contained within the ROCIP Safety Manual as needed and under the direction of the client.
  • Conduct safety personnel interviews and review applications/resumes submitted by General Contractors utilizing the guidelines set forth in the ROCIP Safety Manual.
  • Attend routine meetings as identified in the project contact.
  • Be a visible leader on the project site, setting the standard for safety.

  • Develop, implement, and oversee safety programs and site-specific safety plans.
  • Conduct safety orientations, training, and regular site inspections.
  • Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective measures.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and project requirements.
  • Investigate and document incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.
  • Serve as a mentor and resource to site teams, fostering a proactive safety culture.
  • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to maintain a safe work environment.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Construction Management, or related field
  • Experience: 10+ years of construction safety management, with at least 2 years in ROCIP/OCIP programs
  • Certifications: Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30 and Certified Safety Professional (CSP) required; OSHA 500/510 preferred
  • Passionate about safety
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to manage/direct teams
  • Detailed orientated
  • Significant knowledge of OSHA and state/local safety regulations
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with numerous contractors and stakeholders on large projects

The salary for this position can range from $102,000 - $127,000 annually; actual compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's competencies, level of experience, education, location, divisional budget and internal peer compensation comparisons.
