Account Executive
Ardent Global Logistics | Remote (US-Based)About Ardent
Ardent Global Logistics is a growing NVOCC helping importers and exporters move freight smarter across ocean, air, customs brokerage, drayage, and transload. We are founder-led, customer-obsessed, and built for speed. Every day at Ardent is an opportunity to make a real impact for the customers who rely on us to keep their businesses moving.
We are building something meaningful here. If you want to be part of it, read on.The Opportunity
We are looking for a hungry, self-directed Account Executive to join our commercial team and drive new business growth. This is a pure hunting role. You will be responsible for identifying, prospecting, and closing new customers across our core service lines, and then partnering with our customer experience team to ensure those relationships are set up for long-term success.
This is not a role for someone who needs structure handed to them. It is a role for someone who knows how to open doors, build trust quickly, and close business in a competitive market. What You Will Do
  • Own a territory and build a pipeline of new logo opportunities from scratch
  • Prospect and engage importers, exporters, and supply chain decision makers across target verticals
  • Run a disciplined sales process from initial outreach through close, including discovery, solution development, proposal, and negotiation
  • Develop a working knowledge of Ardent's full service capabilities across ocean, air, customs brokerage, drayage, and trade advisory
  • Partner with the customer experience team on clean handoffs and identify share of wallet opportunities to pass along for development
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and activity data across all commercial tooling, forecast honestly, update consistently, and articulate deal risks and mitigation strategies clearly
  • Represent Ardent at industry events and through your personal network
  • Operate with urgency, ownership, and accountability every day
What We Are Looking For
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in NVOCCs, ocean carriers, brokerages, or logistics technology
  • Demonstrated track record of hunting and closing new business, not managing existing accounts
  • Strong understanding of ocean and air freight fundamentals including trade lanes, carrier relationships, Incoterms, and import and export dynamics
  • Excellent at prospecting, cold outreach, networking, and building a book from zero are things you genuinely enjoy
  • Organized and disciplined with pipeline management, you can articulate exactly where every deal stands, what the risks are, and how you plan to move it forward
  • High emotional intelligence, you read where a buyer actually is before deciding what to say or do next
The 7 Traits We Hire For
We have a defined profile for what makes someone successful in a commercial role at Ardent. The best candidates will show up clearly across all seven.
Problem solver. You love a hard problem and you solve it for your customer, not just for yourself. You are restless with the status quo and always looking for a better way forward.
Business acumen. You understand how your customers make money and why logistics decisions matter to their bottom line.
Curiosity. You are genuinely intrigued by people, businesses, and problems. You want to know more, you ask better questions than most, and that drive to understand is what makes you different in a room.
Asks the right questions at the right time. You know that discovery is not a checklist. You listen closely, read the room, and use what you have learned to ask the question that actually moves things forward.
Writes well. Communication is a competitive advantage for you. You can capture the what, the why, the impact, and the next step in as few words as possible. Intentionally concise, but every word carries weight.
Ownership. Your deals, your accounts, your results. You do not point fingers.
Coachable. You want to win and you want to get better. You take feedback as fuel, not criticism.Bonus Points
  • Existing relationships with importers or exporters in our target verticals
  • Experience selling customs brokerage or value-added services alongside freight
  • Familiarity with GoFreight or similar TMS platforms and sales software tools
Compensation
  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience
  • Uncapped commission on new business
  • Performance incentives tied to GP growth
  • Health benefits and PTO
  • Real upside as the company grows
A Note on This Role
We are at an exciting time for Ardent. New commercial leadership, new services coming online, and a focused effort to build the kind of sales infrastructure that lets our company exponentially grow with intention. The person who joins now will have more impact, more visibility, and more opportunity than someone who joins two years from now.
If you want to be part of building something rather than inheriting it, we want to talk.
