Summary:

As a Rootstock Junior Sales Development Representative, you will play a foundational role in generating new business opportunities and pipeline for our sales team. You will identify critical decision-makers within target manufacturing and distribution organizations and qualify opportunities through outbound calling, email, LinkedIn, and other channels, working closely with an experienced team of Senior SDRs and Account Executives.

This role pays $90,000–$100,000 OTE, and is compensated based on qualified opportunities generated, not raw activity volume. Our comp plan rewards outcomes: the meetings and opportunities that actually advance our pipeline, not just calls dialed or appointments booked. This means your success is measured by the quality of what you bring to the pipeline, and paid accordingly.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their sales career who wants to build a strong foundation in technology sales, supported by structured onboarding, a modern sales tech stack, and close coaching from both peers and leadership. You are enthusiastic, competitive, coachable, and hold yourself accountable to your results.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate outbound interest through a consistent daily cadence of calls, emails, and social touches (LinkedIn) to prospects within assigned target accounts and territories.
  • Qualify and book meetings that convert into qualified opportunities, in partnership with the Account Executive team.
  • Use our sales technology stack — Salesforce, Outreach, Nooks, ZoomInfo Copilot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Claude — to research accounts, execute outreach, and maintain accurate pipeline records.
  • Research target accounts to understand business operations, leadership structure, and pain points relevant to ERP and manufacturing software buying decisions.
  • Participate in structured onboarding and ongoing coaching from the Director of Demand Generation and Senior SDR teammates, including weekly one-on-ones and team strategy sessions.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives on pipeline handoff, opportunity qualification standards, and account-level strategy.
  • Contribute to team meetings covering pipeline progress, messaging, and go-to- market strategy.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in Salesforce in accordance with Rootstock's CRM standards.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent practical experience.
    • Prior experience in a sales, customer-facing, or outbound prospecting role is a plus but not required.
    • Interest in technology or software sales; ERP or B2B SaaS exposure a plus. Familiarity with Salesforce or another CRM a plus.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong research and analytical instincts, with curiosity about how businesses operate.
    • Highly motivated, coachable, and comfortable being measured on outcomes rather than activity.
    • A desire to build and grow a long-term career in sales.

      This position is commission eligible.

We offer our team members competitive compensation, world-class benefits, work-life balance (flexible schedules, telecommuting, vacation time off), and the opportunity to work alongside an amazing and supportive team!

Rootstock values diversity and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
