About the role

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) - Outbound is responsible for proactively identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospective customers. This role is critical to building a strong sales pipeline by initiating outbound outreach and setting qualified meetings for Business Development Executives and Account Executives with both education and workplace accounts. This role will work very closely with our Marketing and Sales Teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute high-volume, high-quality outbound outreach across multiple channels (email, phone, LinkedIn, and other platforms)
  • Proactively prospect target accounts and buyer personas using tools such as CRM, LinkedIn, and marketing campaign lists 
  • Conduct outbound messaging that clearly articulates the company’s value proposition and addresses prospect pain points
  • Qualify outbound leads based on defined criteria (BANT)
  • Book qualified discovery meetings and hand off well-qualified opportunities to Business Development Executives and Account Executives
  • Partner with Business Development Executives and Account Executives to prospect for territory specific campaigns
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all prospecting activities in the CRM
  • Consistently meet or exceed opportunity, pipeline, and meeting-set targets
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and RevOps to improve messaging, targeting, and campaign performance
  • Continuously test and optimize outreach strategies, sequences, and talk tracks
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer challenges

Essential Criteria 

  • 1+ years of B2B experience in sales, customer-facing, or similar roles (experience as an SDR and with Enterprise accounts a plus)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage prospects confidently and professionally
  • High level of coachability, resilience, and comfort with rejection
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a results-driven mindset
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfort using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), sales engagement tools (e.g., Gong, Consensus, ChiliPiper) and Google Suite.
  • Strong research and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Interest in building a career in sales and developing toward a Business Development Executive/Account Executive role
