Role Summary

As SignalWire's first SDR, you'll own the top of the outbound funnel - researching, engaging, and qualifying prospects to build a consistent stream of sales-ready opportunities for the Account Executive team. You'll work closely with sales and marketing leadership to define what "qualified" looks like, build the initial cadences and messaging, and set the bar for SDRs hired after you.

Responsibilities
  • Research and prioritize target accounts against SignalWire's ideal customer profile (ICP)

  • Prospect through outbound email, calls, LinkedIn, and other channels to generate qualified pipeline

  • Qualify inbound leads from marketing campaigns, the website, and events

  • Run structured discovery conversations to confirm fit, need, timing, and budget

  • Schedule qualified meetings for Account Executives and ensure a clean handoff

  • Maintain accurate activity and pipeline records in the CRM and sales engagement platform

  • Partner with sales leadership and marketing to refine messaging, sequences, and targeting

  • Feed market intelligence back to the team — objections, competitive mentions, prospect pain points

Required Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of experience in a prospecting, SDR/BDR, or customer-facing sales role

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable picking up the phone

  • Demonstrated ability to research accounts and personalize outreach rather than relying on generic templates

  • Self-motivated and organized, with comfort operating in ambiguity — this is a first hire, so process is still being built

  • Familiarity with CRM and sales engagement tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, Salesloft)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience selling technical or developer-facing products

  • Familiarity with cloud communications, CPaaS, telephony, or voice AI concepts

  • A track record of hitting or exceeding qualified-meeting or pipeline-generation quotas

What Success Looks Like (First 6 Months)
  • Fully ramped to quota for qualified opportunities/meetings generated per month

  • A repeatable outbound cadence and messaging library in place

  • Consistent, positive feedback from the AE team on the quality of handed-off opportunities

Compensation Disclosure

In accordance with applicable state and local pay transparency laws, the OTE range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000 USD annually, split 80/20 between base and commission. Commission is uncapped and includes a ramp-up period. Actual compensation within this range will be determined by location, relevant experience, skills, and scope of responsibilities. This role is also eligible for an equity grant.

AI Usage Disclosure

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
