This role reports to the VP, Business Development.

  • Prospect and generate new business opportunities through outbound outreach (calls, emails, LinkedIn, events)
  • Own timely follow-up on inbound / hand-raiser activity generated by the marketing team, ensuring no qualified lead goes unworked or stale
  • Help build qualified sales pipeline using a mixture of targeted outbound activities to Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) lists and prioritized inbound follow-up based on engagement and intent signals
  • Research potential leads to craft compelling and personalized outreach messaging based on individual roles, industries, and observed engagement
  • Execute multi-channel outreach across phone, email, and social media (target ~75–100 high-quality activities per day)
  • Qualify leads and set appointments for Account Executives; manage scheduling, confirmations, and rescheduling as needed
  • Partner with Account Executives to align on priority accounts, outreach strategy, and follow-up on target opportunities
  • Ensure Account Executives appropriately accept or reject generated opportunities based on outcomes of scheduled meetings
  • Prioritize outreach based on intent signals including campaign engagement, website activity, and inbound interest
  • Shadow Account Executives on discovery calls and demos to deepen understanding of customer pain points and how Bluefin’s solutions address them
  • Participate in weekly sales and marketing meetings to obtain feedback on outreach performance, appointment quality, and evolving market dynamics
  • Provide feedback to marketing on lead quality, campaign performance, and messaging effectiveness to continuously improve conversion rates
  • Record all activities in Salesforce including outreach attempts, engagement, meetings booked, lead conversion, and opportunity creation; maintain accurate pipeline visibility

Skills and Qualifications

  • 1–3 years in a sales development/business development representative (SDR/BDR) role with a track record of results
  • 1 year of B2B technology experience required (cybersecurity / fintech experience preferred)
  • Proven ability to convert inbound leads into qualified meetings and execute outbound prospecting activities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent relationship/rapport-building skills
  • A competitive growth mindset with resilience to handle rejection
  • Ability to learn new concepts quickly and adapt messaging based on feedback
  • Comfortable making phone calls as a core outreach channel
  • Strong sense of urgency and responsiveness in following up on leads
  • Experience with tools such as Salesforce, Gong, ZoomInfo, and LinkedIn
