Join our exciting sales development team

Our Sales Development Team partners with Akamai's Sales organization to identify and qualify new customer opportunities focused on cloud computing solutions for the sales team to pursue. We work closely with our Marketing team to follow-up on campaigns and events to increase pipeline and generate demand for new customer revenue.

As a Sales Development Representative, you will assist our Cloud Account Executives in acquiring contacts for prospecting efforts, research strategic accounts to guide account penetration and monitor inbound calls and chats to engage with prospective customers, all while training to become at expert at selling Akamai’s product portfolio.
 

As a Sales Development Representative, you will be responsible for:

  • Using new contact acquisition leveraging tools including LinkedIn Sales Navigator and ZoomInfo
  • Analyzing and preparing organizational reports for our strategic accounts to facilitate targeted Marketing and prospecting efforts
  • Developing lead qualification and prospect engagement using our phone and chat system
  • Completing enablement courses around selling Akamai products for your next steps as a SDR

  • Have a bachelors degree and 2 years of relevant sales experience in lead generation or interest in transitioning into a sales role
  • Have a strong desire to pursue a sales career
  • Have an interest in gaining experience identifying business needs through information-gathering to pre-qualify opportunities
  • Have a comfort level doing online research and leveraging various software
  • Have a desire to work in a team and grow in the organization

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - The On Target Earnings (OTE, base salary + commissions) for this position ranges from $67,500 - $121,500/year; a candidate’s OTE is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). Akamai provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation (in the form of PTO), sick time, family friendly benefits including parental leave and an employee assistance program including a focus on mental and financial wellness; Eligibility requirements apply.
