The Sales Engineer, Insurance is a key individual contributor within InvoiceCloud’s Financial Services organization, partnering closely with Sales to support revenue growth through technical expertise and consultative engagement. This role owns the technical aspects of the pre-sales process, helping prospective clients understand how InvoiceCloud’s platform aligns with their business, regulatory, and technical needs. 

 

The Sales Engineer delivers tailored product demonstrations, addresses integration, security, and compliance considerations, and supports RFPs, RFIs, and technical evaluations throughout active sales cycles. Acting as a trusted technical advisor, this role ensures customer questions and risks are addressed clearly and accurately, building confidence in InvoiceCloud’s solutions. 

 

Working cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Implementation teams, the Sales Engineer helps maintain alignment from initial engagement through handoff, operating with autonomy, strong judgment, and clear communication to ensure a seamless and credible sales experience.

  • Supports revenue growth by providing timely, accurate technical input throughout the sales cycle 
  • Assists in RFP and RFI responses to ensure competitive, technically sound submissions 

 

 

 

Customer Centric 

  • Partners with prospective clients to understand business needs, technical environments, and compliance requirements 
  • Aligns InvoiceCloud solutions to customer priorities within the financial services and insurance space 
  • Addresses customer questions and concerns with a consultative, solutions-oriented approach 

 

Takes Ownership 

  • Owns technical aspects of the pre-sales process, including integrations, security, and compliance discussions 
  • Acts as a liaison between Sales, Product, and Implementation teams to ensure seamless handoff and alignment 
  • Proactively stays current on industry trends, competitors, and platform enhancements 

 

Communication 

  • Translates complex technical concepts into clear, compelling messaging for non-technical stakeholders 
  • Leads customer-facing technical discussions with confidence and clarity 
  • Leverages automation and AI-enabled tools to improve the efficiency and consistency of technical sales materials and responses 

 
Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience 
  • 5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Consulting, or similar client-facing technical roles 
  • Experience in financial services or fintech preferred 
  • Strong understanding of SaaS platforms and API integrations 
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills

Base salary is one component of total compensation. Employees may also be eligible for an annual bonus or commission. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. The above represents the expected base compensation range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider many factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors. 

Base Compensation Range
$125,000$145,000 USD
