Mission

To support the sales and the customers with punctual technical support focused on the adoption of Nidec SCROLL compressors/solutions for Refrigeration, AC and Heat pump applications.

Be the focal point for the North America Region for the Nidec Scroll Technology segment in the Technical and Application fields. Supporting colleagues in other regions as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Support customers in choosing and using SCROLL compressors. Define technical needs based on how the compressor will be used. Review and approve tests to ensure the compressor works as expected. Evaluate new compressor models and confirm they meet customer requirements.
  • Provide training on products and applications in both internal and external customers
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities: Pre-sale, according to business strategy, identify the customer’s value drivers, and capture new application opportunities
  • Inform customers about new SCROLL products, competitors’ cross reference, and technical info and datasheets
  • Support product strategy drivers, (Natural Refrigerants, VCC, Digital, Standardization, Phase-in / Phase-out, SKU rationalization…)
  • Visit customers to consult with and give them technical support, help on application testing, solve problems that occur on the customers’ production lines
  • Coordinate internal activities and follow up on technical needs from customers, such as samples, application tests, technical material, etc.
  • Observe national legislation, regulations and decrees as well as internal directives and apply them at work

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in SCROLL Compressor producers or/and in OEMs working in Refrigeration, AC and/or HP familiar with SCROLL usage
  • Knowledge of SCROLL compressor design, product quality control process and production quality control process. High knowledge of Engineering.
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of complex technical products and services
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to customers
  • Proven track record in sales and customer relationship management
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Language Skills: Minimum requirement (Fluent English), Desirable (Fluent Italian), Desirable (Chinese), Desirable (Spanish)

Additional Job Details

Work Location: This position offers flexibility and can be performed remotely within the United States, or based near our headquarters in St. Louis, MO.
