About Doodle Labs

Doodle Labs is a leader in advanced wireless networking solutions powering mission-critical unmanned and robotic systems across air, ground, and maritime domains. Our high-performance radios deliver reliable connectivity for commercial and defense organizations pushing autonomy into real-world operations.

Recognized by Fast Company as one of the Most Innovative Companies of 2024, Doodle Labs is rapidly scaling to support breakthrough programs in UAVs, UGVs, USV robotics, tactical communications, and autonomy systems used by frontline operators.

About the Job

This is an exceptional opportunity to play a hands-on technical role at the center of next-generation unmanned systems development. As a Sales Engineer, you will guide leading drones and robotics OEMs through successful integration of Doodle Labs radios from initial technical evaluation through field testing and deployment.

You will own customer-facing engineering engagements, solve complex RF and networking challenges, and ensure that customer platforms achieve reliable, high-performance communications in operational environments. Reporting into Sales Engineering leadership, this role sits at the intersection of customer success, field engineering, technical problem-solving, and mission execution.

What You’ll Do

1. Win and Accelerate Design-In Success

  • Manage 10–15 active customer integrations and guide them through structured technical milestones with a target of ≥90% technical win rate.

2. Ensure Successful Field Validation

  • Support UAV/UGV/USV deployments through disciplined field testing, execution, and rapid troubleshooting — achieving ≥95% on-time test milestones.

3. Resolve Complex RF & Networking Integration Challenges

  • Diagnose and solve issues across RF propagation, antenna system performance, link budgets, EMI/EMC, system power, TCP/IP connectivity, and mesh networking. Capture learnings to strengthen future integrations.

4. Maintain Operational Discipline Through CRM Visibility

  • Drive ≥90% accuracy in HubSpot through real-time updates, status documentation, action tracking, and forecasting — enabling clear cross-functional alignment.

5. Build Customer Confidence Through Onsite Engagement

  • Travel up to 50% to lead technical workshops, demos, validation events, and mission-relevant field activities that build customer trust, reference ability, and long-term adoption.

What Success Looks Like

In the First 6 Months:

  • Clear ownership of 10–15 active integrations with structured technical plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot RF, networking, and system-level issues in the field.
  • Multiple customer test events supported with successful outcomes and captured learnings.
  • Strong CRM discipline resulting in clear visibility for cross-functional stakeholders.

    Within 12 Months:

    • High technical win rate across integration programs.
    • Repeat deployments and expanded adoption across customer fleets.
    • Proven reliability supporting UAV, UGV, and maritime field validations.
    • Recognized by customers and internal teams as a trusted technical advisor.

      Who You Are

      • 3–7+ years in a customer-facing technical role (Sales Engineering, Field Apps, Integration, Solutions Engineering).
      • Strong hands-on understanding of RF propagation, antennas, interference mitigation, and wireless networking.
      • Experience integrating radios into UAV/autonomy platforms (command-and-control, telemetry, high-throughput data links).
      • Skilled communicator who thrives in field environments solving real-world engineering challenges.
      • Motivated by ownership and high accountability — your work directly influences customer success and program outcomes.

        Nice to Have

        • Familiarity with mesh networking concepts (mobile MANET routing, distributed networks).
        • TCP/IP configuration and troubleshooting experience.
        • Background supporting DoD programs, defense primes, or DIU prototypes.
        • Experience with autonomy OEMs (industrial drones, logistics AMRs, maritime robotics).

          Additional Details

          • Location: Remote U.S. role with frequent customer travel
          • Travel: Up to 50%
          • Eligibility: U.S. Person status may be required depending on customer programs
