As one of the nation’s largest single-source providers of lighting and electrical products, electrical services, electrical construction, and energy management solutions, Facility Solutions Group is expanding its staff and seeking a Sales Engineer to join the Round Rock, TX team.

 

Job Description

As a member of our FSG Smart Buildings Engineering and Sales Teams, you will work closely with our Business Development Managers to explain the benefits of FSG products and services to potential customers. You will use your technical skills and knowledge to give presentations showcasing the capabilities of our products and services and how they solve specific customer problems. You will also leverage these skills to define the project scope necessary to implement these solutions for the customer. 


As an FSG Smart Buildings Sales Engineer, you will:


  • Work closely with Business Development Managers to support quoting and closing business.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to prospective customers.
  • Communicate with customers and engineers to assess equipment needs and to determine system requirements.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support..
  • Plan and modify products to meet customer needs.
  • Help clients solve problems with installed equipment.
  • Recommend solutions to customers, showing how changes will lower costs or increase production.
  • Help in researching and developing new products.
  • Perform a similar function as Account Management, establishing customer rapport and acceptance with more of a technical focus. 
  • Proactively engage with customers.
  • Act as the client's representative to ensure that their demands are met with a focus on improving the customer experience.
  • Identify opportunities to increase customer profitability and drive company revenue.
  • Work with all operations to deliver maximum customer retention, revenue, and net profit.
  • Ensure customers are aware of all FSG Products and Services
  • Research and report on competitive market data.
  • Maintain FSG internal CRM and “Engage” with the latest opportunities.
  • Meet and exceed FSG-developed KPI’s.

The ideal candidate will satisfy the following requirements and qualifications:


Required

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and strategic selling skills.
  • Strong equipment/technical BAS/HVAC understanding.
  • Ability to comprehend drawings, schematics, and submittals and propose and manage alterations in the interest of FSG.
  • Niagara 4 TCP Certification
  • Ability to give presentations in front of various groups and to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets, Google Docs & Google Slides, or the Microsoft equivalent
  • Contribute to the team. Speak up and challenge others when you disagree. Share your knowledge.
  • Be accountable to yourself, your co-workers, vendors, and customers.
  • Travel and stay overnight up to 25%, depending on the needs of the business.
  • Must be positive and collaborative. 
  • Ability to multitask while staying organized.

Preferred

  • Minimum four years of Building Automation/Controls experience
  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree (or similar field)
  • Experience with EMS/BAS solutions, including Distech, Novar, Honeywell, Siemens, Tridium/Niagara, BASview, or JCI.
