Job Description

Seeking a Sales Engineer with deep expertise in the North America financial services ecosystem and a strong background in card processing, core banking, and modern cloud‑native architectures to support Pismo's core banking solution. This role plays a critical part in driving Visa’s Value Added Services growth by shaping high‑impact technical solutions, influencing product strategy through client engagement, and ensuring our offerings deliver exceptional value to banks, credit unions and FinTechs in the region.

This role operates with moderate autonomy, applying deep functional expertise to influence customer decisions, shape solution design, and ensure high‑quality execution across the pre‑sales lifecycle. The role contributes to team effectiveness through mentorship and informal leadership, without full people management accountability.

Key Responsibilities (Scope & Accountability)

Solution Leadership & Deal Execution

  • Own technical solutioning for large and complex Cards and Core Banking opportunities, operating as the primary technical authority for assigned deals.
  • Design and validate cloud‑native architectures, integration patterns, and solution flows aligned with customer requirements and product capabilities.
  • Ensure solutions are technically sound, commercially viable, and implementation‑ready prior to deal closure.

Customer Engagement & Influence

  • Lead customer discovery sessions to translate business objectives into clear technical solutions.
  • Deliver executive‑level presentations and product demonstrations, adapting depth and messaging to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Influence technical buying decisions by clearly articulating value, differentiation, and trade‑offs.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Sales, Product, Solutions Management, Engineering, and Solution Architecture teams to:
    • Validate feasibility and delivery assumptions
    • Align customer commitments with platform capabilities
    • Support a smooth transition from pre‑sales to implementation
  • Contribute to RFPs, RFIs, and solution proposals with accurate, well‑structured technical content.

Team Enablement

  • Provide guidance on solution quality, messaging, and best practices.
  • Support onboarding and enablement efforts through knowledge sharing and deal reviews.
  • Does not include formal performance management, hiring authority, or budget ownership.

Decision Making & Impact

  • Makes independent decisions within defined technical and commercial frameworks.
  • Escalates complex or ambiguous issues appropriately.
  • Decisions directly impact deal success, customer satisfaction, and implementation readiness.
  • Influence is primarily at the deal, customer, and regional level, not company‑wide strategy.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Visa will accept applications for this role until at least 04/21/2026
