About First Connect:

First Connect Insurance Services is a digital platform providing independent insurance agents with access to top US carriers and the optionality necessary to grow their businesses. Agents can work with over 150 carriers, selling various insurance policies, including home, auto, small business, and more. We're on a mission to overhaul the technology agents have access to, putting consumer-grade software at their fingertips. We have partnerships with thousands of active agents with hundreds joining monthly and we plan to accelerate our growth.

Role Overview:

As the Sales Manager for our Agency Sign-Up team, you'll own the performance of a team responsible for moving prospective agencies from interest to active platform use. This is a conversion-focused sales leadership role: you'll set the standard for how we sell, coach your team to execute against it, and work cross-functionally to remove friction from the sign-up process. It's an ideal role for a sales leader who's energized by building repeatable sales motion, coaching reps to hit their numbers, and making a high-growth environment run cleanly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Sign-Up Specialists, setting clear performance expectations and providing ongoing feedback to help each rep grow.
  • Own team conversion metrics: set targets, track performance against them, and identify the coaching or process interventions that move the needle.
  • Build and reinforce a consistent, high-energy sales culture focused on urgency, follow-through, and delivering a strong first impression of the platform.
  • Recruit, hire, and ramp new team members as the Sign-Up function scales.
  • Standardize workflows and call processes to ensure quality, consistency, and scalability across the team.
  • Generate momentum with prospective agencies during the sign-up process to drive activation and early platform utilization.
  • Partner closely with the Onboarding team to ensure clean handoffs and alignment on what a well-activated agency looks like.
  • Define and track KPIs including conversion rate, contact-to-activation ratios, and call/activity metrics; analyze trends and surface actionable insights for leadership.
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior leadership on team results, key initiatives, and opportunities.
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and Operations to surface agent feedback and bring the right tools and resources to your team.
  • Stay informed on carrier appetites, market trends, and the competitive landscape to keep the team's messaging sharp and relevant.
  • Address escalations promptly and resolve issues that could slow or block an agency's path to activation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in sales, sales leadership, insurance distribution, or a related field, with at least 2 years managing a sales team
  • A track record of owning conversion or pipeline metrics and moving them in the right direction
  • Strong coaching instincts, with the ability to develop reps at different experience levels through observation and specific feedback, not just encouragement
  • Analytical and data-driven, comfortable in a CRM and fluent in performance metrics
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • P&C license
  • CPCU or CIC designation

Benefits & Perks:

First Connect treats its team members with the same level of dedication and care as we do our customers, which is why we're fortunate to provide our team with:

  • Multiple medical plans to choose from and 100% employer-covered dental; vision plans for our team members and their families.
  • We also offer a 401(k) retirement plan, short; long-term disability, employer-paid life insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) for health and dependent care, and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Equity - This position is eligible for equity compensation
  • Training and Career Growth - Training and internal career growth opportunities
  • Flexible Time Off - You know when and how you should recharge

This is a base + variable role. The base pay ranges from $100,000 to $120,000 annually, with On Target Earnings (including sales variable bonus) of $145,000 to $165,000 annually.

First Connect is an equal-opportunity employer, and we are committed to building a team culture that celebrates diversity and inclusion.

Applicants are considered solely based on their qualifications, without regard to an applicant's disability or need for accommodation. Any First Connect applicant who requires reasonable accommodations during the application process should contact the First Connect People Team to make the need for an accommodation known.
