Role: Direct Sales Account Manager

Location: Austin, TX or Remote

Reports To: Senior Manager, Direct Sales

About This Role

Hippo’s Direct Sales team is growing rapidly and we are looking for an Account Manager to create long-term, trusting relationships with Insurance Sales Agents that are selling Hippo’s products on a 1099 basis. This is a newly created position that will be essential to improving the overall efficiency and productivity of the team. The Account Manager’s role is to work with Insurance Sales Agents to help them develop new business from existing clients and actively seek new sales opportunities.

  • You are highly organized, efficient and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
  • You have a genuine interest in Sales and helping Hippo win by giving us insights into our performance.
  • You are a problem solver and enjoy making the puzzle pieces fit together.
  • You are proactive and can adapt to changing priorities and schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead point of contact for all onboarded Direct Sales Agents
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with Insurance Sales Agents to help them maximize their profitability
  • Enable these agents to learn more about Hippo and give them the necessary tools, collateral and resources to sell
  • Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to Sr. Manager.
  • Aid Agent’s in developing new business with clients and/or identify areas of improvement to meet sales quotas
  • Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts)
  • Assist with challenging Agent requests or issue escalations as needed

Requirements

  • 3+ years of work experience as an Account Manager, Insurance Sales Representative or relevant role
  • Property & Casualty Insurance experience will be helpful, strong preference for licensed P&C agents
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization
  • Solid experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce, Zoho CRM or HubSpot) and MS Office (particularly MS Excel)
  • Experience delivering insurance sales solutions and presentations
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail
  • Excellent listening, rapport building and relationship management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Sales or relevant experience
