The Head of Sales will lead the sales team and help propel the company to its next stage of growth while working closely with other team members, peers and executives to achieve this growth. The primary functions of this position are to ensure execution for all revenue generation, predictable and repeatable sales, and winning opportunities through development of strong direct customer relationships at all levels of the target customer organizations. This includes the need for strong product knowledge, team management, and direct, indirect and channel sales activities.

The VP of Sales will exhibit strong executive presence, leadership, and sound business judgment with the ability to use influence and analysis to drive initiatives and create a path forward. This leader must be team-oriented and willing to collaborate extensively with the company’s leadership and management teams to formulate and execute strategies driving growth consistent with the mission, vision, and values.

Requirements

Critical responsibilities include:

  • Drive Revenue: Achieve 2022 revenue plan; Work with the executive team to identify and establish new areas of growth and additional revenue opportunities while exploiting the existing opportunities.

We are looking for predictive, problem-solving sales experts that can translate numbers to action.
  • Sales Process Optimization: Create a sales engine by measuring and increasing the sales close rate through standardizing the selling process, training and sales rigor.
  • Sales Training & Development: Recruit, hire, develop, and mentor an incredible sales team through training, coaching, promotions, rewards, recognition, and performance management. Create the best Sales team for a scaling SaaS platform, with the right mix of industry experience, and fluency of the customer problem. Build (and manage) a team that balances the tone of a professional company with the move-fast-and-execute tone of a rapidly growing eCommerce company. Everyone on the Sales team should be working at the Company for the same reason – to create the dominant eCommerce platform for Creators.
  • Velocity & Solution Consultative Sales: Must bring a career’s worth of high-velocity transaction sales experience (SMB) as well as solutions sales experience (target market / Named customers). Our growth will be unlocked by someone who can continue to scale the velocity flywheel and add a consultative sales model that understands their businesses and barriers/obstacles to change and leveraging that relationship and analysis to close deals.
  • Culture: Foster a culture of shared ownership and push the work to the front lines. Don’t ask anyone to do anything you would not be willing to do. Focus on collaboration, speed, learning, scalability, and excellence between functional and departmental goals. Hold both yourself and colleagues to the highest standard of ethical professionalism, instilling strong values in your team and fostering a community that loves working together.

  • Allocate: Support and allocate resources for an effective organizational structure that balances process, accountability and scalability with product velocity and innovation as the Company continues to scale.
  • Strategize: Develop the Sales strategy and be held accountable for maintaining enough resources (time, people, money) to achieve the growth targets set for the Company.
  • Prepare: Be at the forefront of the latest trends and resources for the Company, while balancing scalability and stability.

The personal attributes for the next Leader include...

High integrity: You know right from wrong and are fully invested in doing the right thing at all times. You keep your word, follow through, and do what you say you will do. Don’t cut corners ethically, and always do what is right as opposed to what’s simply convenient.

Team Player: Collaborative, hardworking, problem-solver who leads by example. You could never ask anyone to do something you are not willing to do yourself.

Empathetic: You can feel the heartbeat of the organization. Others trust you and share with you.

Entrepreneurial: You think outside the box; you can do more with less; you are resourceful and fiscally responsible in the pursuit of business objectives.

Flexible: You adapt as situations change and are comfortable with ambiguity and constant change.

  • Grew sales organization that scaled a SaaS business from $25-50 million revenue range to $75-100+ million revenue.
  • Experience with software, SaaS businesses of $50-$150 million in revenue and high growth both organically and acquisitively.
  • Proven, successful track record of navigating across functional areas to deliver profitable sales and top line growth.
  • Has worked in a fast growing and changing environment going through different growth stages.
