Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable financial architecture using SAP S/4HANA General Ledger and SAP Fioneer FPSL (Financial Products Subledger).

  • Work with accounting and finance to align technical solutions with accounting requirements.
  • Bring structure to ambiguous regulatory requirements through sound engineering judgment and deep understanding of the subledger/ledger architecture.
  • Own critical components of the Result Data Layer (RDL) and Subledger Journal, driving performance, reliability, and auditability.
  • Mentor junior engineers and functional consultants, elevating team standards through design reviews and technical leadership in ABAP and HANA modeling.
  • Uphold best practices in system performance tuning, batch processing, and integration logic, ensuring the financial close process is fast and reliable.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of professional experience in SAP Finance implementation and development.
  • Proven experience with a solid foundation in S/4HANA Finance (FI/CO) and SAP Fioneer FPSL (or its predecessor, SAP Bank Analyzer/sAFI).
  • Technical understanding of the FPSL architecture, including SDL (Source Data Layer), RDL (Result Data Layer), and the CVPM framework.
  • Proficiency in ABAP for custom process steps and SAP HANA Native SQL / CDS Views for high-performance data modeling.
  • Solid background in General Ledger configuration, including Document Splitting, Parallel Ledgers, and the Universal Journal.
  • Experience with integration patterns for high-volume financial data (e.g., loading data via API or ETL tools into the FPSL interface).
  • Familiarity with financial accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP) and how they translate into technical posting logic.
  • Full ownership mindset—configuring, testing, and validating accounting logic to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience working across Accounting, IT, and Finance teams.

Added bonus if you have

  • Experience working in Banking or Insurance sectors dealing with various financial instruments or warranty policies.
  • Exposure to SAP PaPM (Profitability and Performance Management) or SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) for reporting.
  • Familiarity with BTP and BDC technologies (e.g., Cloud ALM, Integration Suite, and Datasphere) for pre-processing data before it hits the SAP landscape.
  • Certification in SAP S/4HANA Finance or SAP Fioneer solutions.
