Job Title: SAP SD Consultant
Location: 100% Remote (U.S.)
Position Type: Full-time, Direct W2
Salary Range: $130,000–$190,000 Annually
Experience Required: 7+ years

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced SAP SD Consultant to lead the implementation, enhancement, and support of enterprise SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) solutions across complex Order-to-Cash (OTC) business processes. This role focuses on delivering scalable SAP S/4HANA solutions supporting global sales operations, pricing, shipping, billing, customer management, and third-party system integrations.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, functional consultants, technical teams, SAP Basis administrators, and integration architects to design and configure SAP SD solutions that improve operational efficiency, streamline business processes, and support digital transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses strong expertise in SAP SD configuration, cross-functional integration, and S/4HANA implementation projects while maintaining a deep understanding of end-to-end Order-to-Cash business processes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable SAP SD functional solutions.
  • Configure and support SAP Sales and Distribution modules including Sales Orders, Deliveries, Billing, Shipping, Pricing, Output Management, and Returns Processing.
  • Lead end-to-end implementation and enhancement projects across Order-to-Cash (OTC) business processes.
  • Configure customer master data, material master integration, sales organizations, distribution channels, divisions, shipping points, plants, and sales areas.
  • Design and configure pricing procedures, condition techniques, tax determination, rebates, discounts, freight, and promotional pricing.
  • Configure copy controls, item categories, schedule line categories, incompletion procedures, and document flows.
  • Collaborate with ABAP developers to develop functional specifications for reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms, workflows, BADIs, User Exits, and IDOCs.
  • Support SAP S/4HANA migration, system upgrades, and business transformation initiatives.
  • Integrate SAP SD with MM, FI/CO, PP, WM, EWM, TM, GTS, CRM, and external third-party applications.
  • Develop functional documentation including Business Process Documents (BPDs), Functional Specifications (FS), Configuration Documents, and Test Scripts.
  • Support SIT, UAT, regression testing, production deployments, and hypercare activities.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide ongoing production support.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, solution design workshops, and architecture review sessions.

Required Skills
  • Seven or more years of hands-on SAP SD consulting experience supporting enterprise SAP environments.
  • Strong expertise in SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA Sales and Distribution configuration.
  • Extensive knowledge of Order-to-Cash (OTC) business processes.
  • Hands-on experience configuring Sales Orders, Deliveries, Billing, Returns, Credit Management, Output Determination, and Shipping processes.
  • Strong experience configuring pricing procedures, condition techniques, access sequences, pricing routines, taxes, rebates, and discounts.
  • Experience with customer master, material master, business partner configuration, and partner determination.
  • Strong understanding of copy controls, item categories, schedule line categories, route determination, shipping determination, and transportation scheduling.
  • Experience integrating SAP SD with MM, FI, PP, WM/EWM, TM, CRM, and other SAP modules.
  • Experience preparing Functional Specifications for ABAP developments including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows (RICEFW).
  • Familiarity with IDOCs, BAPIs, RFCs, APIs, EDI, and middleware integration technologies.
  • Experience supporting SAP interfaces with Salesforce, E-commerce platforms, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and third-party logistics providers.
  • Experience with SAP Solution Manager, ChaRM, SAP Fiori, and SAP GUI.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and business process optimization skills.
  • Experience working in Agile Scrum or SAP Activate implementation methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience participating in multiple full lifecycle SAP S/4HANA implementation projects.
  • Familiarity with SAP Fiori Apps, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), and SAP Integration Suite.
  • Experience with Advanced ATP (aATP), Variant Configuration (VC), and SAP Global Trade Services (GTS).
  • Knowledge of SAP Transportation Management (TM) and Extended Warehouse Management (EWM).
  • Experience supporting multinational organizations with global sales operations.
  • Familiarity with SAP Revenue Accounting, Intercompany Sales, Cross-Company Sales, and International Trade processes.
  • Experience integrating SAP with Salesforce, MuleSoft, Boomi, or other enterprise integration platforms.
  • SAP Certified Application Associate or SAP Certified Professional certification in SAP SD or SAP S/4HANA Sales is highly desirable.
  • Experience supporting highly regulated industries including manufacturing, healthcare, retail, consumer products, or life sciences.
  • Knowledge of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and reporting solutions is a plus.

Project Environment
You will be joining a global SAP transformation program responsible for modernizing enterprise Order-to-Cash processes across multiple business units. Current initiatives include:
  • SAP S/4HANA Greenfield and Brownfield implementation projects
  • Global Order-to-Cash process standardization
  • Advanced Pricing and Revenue Management solutions
  • Integration with Salesforce CRM and enterprise eCommerce platforms
  • Warehouse Management (EWM) and Transportation Management (TM) integration
  • Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) modernization
  • SAP Fiori application rollout and user experience enhancements
  • Enterprise workflow automation and approval processes
  • Cloud-based SAP integrations using SAP BTP and Integration Suite
This is a hands-on functional consulting role where you will contribute to solution architecture, SAP SD configuration, business process optimization, system integration, testing, production support, and continuous improvement of mission-critical enterprise SAP platforms.
