Lead Agile delivery for an enterprise data and AI platform by facilitating Scrum ceremonies, coaching distributed teams, removing impediments, managing risks and dependencies, maintaining delivery metrics, coordinating stakeholders, supporting release readiness, and driving continuous process improvement. Partner with the Product Owner to maintain a prioritized backlog and ensure predictable, high-quality delivery across onshore and offshore teams.
We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to lead Agile delivery for an enterprise data and AI platform. This is an onshore, client-facing role responsible for facilitating the Scrum framework, coordinating a distributed onshore/offshore team, removing impediments, and ensuring predictable, high-quality delivery. The successful candidate is a servant leader who pairs strong facilitation and coaching skills with the delivery discipline needed to keep complex technical work on track and stakeholders aligned.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives across onshore and offshore team members.
- Coach the team on Agile principles and Scrum practices, fostering self-organization, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Identify, track, and remove impediments; escalate risks and dependencies proactively and drive them to resolution.
- Partner with the Product Owner to maintain a healthy, prioritized backlog and ensure user stories are well-defined, estimated, and ready for delivery.
- Manage sprint execution and delivery governance: track velocity, burndown, and throughput, and provide clear status reporting to stakeholders and leadership.
- Coordinate across time zones to keep the distributed team aligned, unblocked, and delivering to commitments.
- Manage and communicate risks, issues, and delivery timelines; support release planning and readiness.
- Serve as a key point of contact for stakeholders and SMEs, running working sessions and driving open decisions to closure.
- Champion Agile maturity and process improvement, tailoring practices to fit the team and engagement.
- Protect the team from scope creep and external disruption while maintaining transparency on progress and trade-offs.
Required Skills & Experience
- 6+ years in project or delivery management, with 3+ years as a dedicated Scrum Master.
- Deep, hands-on knowledge of Scrum and broader Agile frameworks; experience scaling Agile (e.g., SAFe) is a plus.
- Proven track record facilitating distributed onshore/offshore delivery teams across time zones.
- Strong command of Agile tooling (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence) for backlog management, sprint tracking, and reporting.
- Excellent facilitation, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills; a servant-leadership mindset.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; comfortable owning client-facing delivery and status reporting.
- Solid grasp of delivery metrics (velocity, burndown, cycle time) and how to use them to drive improvement.
- Ability to work effectively with technical teams delivering data engineering and AI/ML solutions.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I/II) or equivalent; SAFe certification a plus.
- Experience delivering data, analytics, or AI/ML platform projects.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and modern engineering workflows (Git, pull-request reviews, environment promotion).
- Background bridging business and technical stakeholders in regulated or compliance-driven environments.
- Exposure to project financials, resource planning, and delivery governance.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
