Compensation:          $104,000.00 - $130,000.00 (Range applies to US candidates only) + Benefits/Variable Comp - Range may vary based on experience.

Summary

We are seeking a Scrum Master to join our Enterprise Project Management Office team, serving as a key advocate for the Scrum process while embodying Agile principles. The ideal candidate will excel at coaching teams in an Agile environment, facilitating Scrum ceremonies, and driving process improvements. This role requires a deep understanding of IT and/or Cloud concepts, with a focus on supporting technical teams in backlog refinement and Planning, ensuring all project objectives are clearly understood and met. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and guide IS Operations and Application teams on the effective application of Agile/Scrum concepts, values, practices, and principles, with a focus on improving team effectiveness.
  • Lead and manage multiple Scrum teams in their day-to-day activities, including conducting Agile ceremonies such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
  • Support technical teams during backlog refinement by gathering and refining user stories, defining technical considerations, and ensuring that all technical requirements are well understood and actionable. Ability to recognize and coach on the need to break down stories into manageable chunks.
  • Establish schedules, create working agreements, facilitate discussions, and resolve any roadblocks that may hinder sprint goals.
  • Assist with data management in the adoption and utilization of project management tools.
  • Utilize Agile metrics and retrospective actions to assess Agile maturity and identify opportunities for process and practice improvement, leveraging project management tools and team dashboards.
  • Track and remove impediments to enhance the efficiency and productivity of technical teams.
  • Represent Agile teams and provide updates on development and release statuses to Operations’ Management and/or Product Owners.
  • Facilitate and ensure effort estimation is effectively performed within teams, utilizing planning poker or other tools.
  • Coordinate across Operations’ teams as required to manage cross-functional dependencies, resource planning, and technical considerations.
  • Rotation of Scrum of Scrum facilitation and coach/mentor other Scrum Masters.

 

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master in a software environment.
  • Certification such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified Scrum Professional Scrum Master (CSP-SM) from Scrum Alliance.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, frameworks, Scrum theory, and practices.
  • Proficiency in Agile techniques, including user stories, continuous integration, continuous testing, pairing, and automated testing.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present to executive sponsors and interact with both technical and non-technical staff across all management levels.
  • Proven ability to make decisive business decisions and resolve issues effectively.
  • Advanced JIRA skills and an affinity for technology.

  • Solutions-oriented mindset for tackling complex problems and challenges.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in navigating complex situations and resolving conflicts with positive outcomes.
  • Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) practices.

  • Effective at prioritizing and executing tasks in high-pressure environments.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation and extensive experience in team-oriented, collaborative settings.
  • Proven ability to build relationships in a remote environment.
