Guild is hiring an Account Director responsible for driving new revenue growth for Guild Academy by owning full-cycle sales execution with large enterprises (typically 30k+ employees). This role plays a critical part in translating Academy go-to-market strategy into pipeline, closed deals, and customer impact.
Operating in a fast-evolving product environment, the Account Director blends strong consultative selling skills with curiosity, adaptability, and a test-and-learn mindset. This role partners closely with Academy Sales leadership, Product Marketing, and cross-functional stakeholders to refine messaging, uncover buyer insights, and scale repeatable sales motions over time.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales Execution & Pipeline Ownership- Own full-funnel sales execution for Guild Academy opportunities, from prospecting through close.
- Build and manage a healthy pipeline aligned to Academy GTM priorities and revenue targets.
- Execute established sales motions, playbooks, and qualification frameworks while contributing feedback for continuous improvement.
- Accurately forecast deals and maintain strong pipeline hygiene in CRM systems.
- Engage prospective customers in discovery conversations to understand learning needs, workforce challenges, and Academy use cases.
- Test and refine messaging, value propositions, and sales approaches based on real-time market feedback.
- Surface buyer insights, objections, and competitive intelligence to Sales Leadership and Product Marketing.
- Partner with Product Marketing to apply positioning, enablement materials, and competitive narratives in customer conversations.
- Collaborate with Academy, Product, and Learning teams by sharing customer feedback that informs product evolution and packaging.
- Work closely with Finance and Sales Ops on pricing, deal structure, and approval processes as needed.
- Navigate complex buying groups and multi-stakeholder sales cycles with confidence and professionalism.
- Support pilot deals, early adopters, and new Academy offerings as GTM strategies evolve.
- Represent Guild’s mission and Academy value with credibility, empathy, and executive presence.
- 8+ years of experience in B2B sales, preferably selling complex HRTech or L&D solutions.
- A consistent track record of success (top performer, consistently meeting and/or exceeding quota)
- Experience in a startup or similar fast-paced environment where there is frequent change and rapid growth expectations
- A highly strategic mindset, acting as a consultant to your client using a well structured repeatable process to move prospects from discovery through close
- Cultivate champions within your accounts to ensure a well developed solution with broad internal support and a clear understanding of the buying and decision making process.
- Build strategic customer-facing presentations and proposals, focused on solutions and outcomes.
- Work with a broad range of internal Guild partners to design programs, deliver outcome-focused executive presentations, complete workshops, complete project scoping and sizing activities, plan launch/implementation, and negotiate contracts.
- Negotiate complex and unique contracts
We are committed to equal pay for equal work and believe in compensation transparency. All salary ranges are standardized nationwide and will not vary by region. This role offers a competitive total compensation package, including a base salary of $175,000 plus significant commissions eligibility as well as company stock options. Compensation offered will be based on a combination of factors such as experience, competencies, and internal equity.
