***Our headquarters are located in Stamford, CT, but the location of this position can be flexible with a preference for working in one of our office locations -- Stamford, CT, Charlotte, NC, Chicago, IL, Los Angeles, CA, Miami, FL, New York, NY, or Atlanta, GA. Remote candidates will not be considered. This role will be on EST business hours.

As a Senior Account Manager within Octagon’s Client Services team, you will lead day-to-day management of a major financial services client and its portfolio of premier marathon and endurance partnerships. You will help shape strategic direction, oversee partnership planning and activation, and ensure seamless execution across multiple internal teams and external partners.

A strong focus will be placed on strategic program development, team and client leadership, integrated planning across internal/external channels, presentation development/delivery, and driving collaboration with clients, properties, external partners, and internal teammates across the agency.

The position is best suited for a candidate with a working knowledge of the running industry, and ideally an interest in leveraging cause marketing and philanthropic initiatives, to positively impact the experience of runners, race organizers and client customers. You will be capable of managing multiple workstreams, possess polished & persuasive communication skills, and have a strong knowledge of the sports & entertainment sponsorship landscape.

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

  • Support the development of integrated annual sponsorship activation plans, initiatives, and campaigns
  • Oversee multiple sponsorship project work-streams from development through execution and results reporting
  • Ensure all assets—on-site, experiential, digital, media and hospitality—are properly tracked, managed, and fulfilled
  • Ability to act as lead day to day contact for North American based clients – proactively manage requests and develop projects with clear objectives and strategic alignment
  • Develop and deliver key documents to include senior executive presentations, strategic recommendations, competitive reports, best practice guides, and case studies
  • Lead inter-agency projects and campaign development with key specialty areas including strategy, experiential, creative, and digital
  • Lead communications across partner organizations, and external agencies to keep programs aligned and moving forward
  • Support annual budget planning and tracking
  • Manage and develop junior team members; be a team leader cultivating an inclusive environment for all team members
  • Build and cultivate positive client relationships
  • Become an authority on our client's business and their competitive set
  • Other related duties, as reasonably assigned, including but not limited to, talent procurement, industry research, new deal evaluation, and/or support of other cause-based sponsorship platforms within client’s portfolio

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR 

  • 5–6 years of work with an agency, brand, or property on integrated brand campaigns, specifically within U.S. domestic and global sports
  • Previous experience in endurance and running industry highly preferred, but not required
  • Superior verbal and written communicator - able to scale and adapt communications for different audiences to optimally and succinctly articulate agency positioning and expertise
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with a commitment to developing talent underneath and around you
  • Experience delivering integrated sponsorship activations and campaigns
  • Track record of success at cultivating positive agency client, vendor and property relationships
  • Proven ability to manage multiple programs, timelines, and teams under pressure
  • Coachable, adaptable, and eager to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Willingness to travel domestically and work weekends/holidays as needed (appx. 20 – 30%)

The base range for this position is $65,000 – 75,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications
