ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for a Senior AI/ML & Mobile Application Engineer (iOS/Android) responsible for designing, training, deploying, and optimizing AI/ML models that power our Voice Agent platform, while also contributing to the development and integration of Android and iOS applications.
This role spans the full AI lifecycle—from research and experimentation to production deployment and monitoring—and requires hands-on mobile application development experience. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in speech and NLP technologies, strong engineering practices, and experience integrating AI-powered capabilities into mobile applications.
The role requires collaboration across backend, frontend, mobile, and infrastructure teams. Frontend and mobile application development experience are mandatory, as the position includes building prototypes, dashboards, internal demos, and production-ready mobile experiences.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Model Development: Design, train, and fine-tune models and pipelines for STT, NLU, and TTS use cases.
- MLOps: Build and maintain MLOps pipelines for model deployment, monitoring, and retraining.
- API Development: Develop APIs and services that expose AI capabilities to backend, frontend, and mobile applications.
- Performance Optimization: Collaborate with backend engineers to optimize inference performance and end-to-end latency.
- Mobile Application Development: Develop, enhance, and maintain applications for Android and iOS, including integration of AI/ML and Voice Agent capabilities.
- Mobile AI Integration: Integrate APIs, speech processing, real-time communication, and AI-powered functionality into mobile applications.
- Frontend Prototyping: Create frontend prototypes, dashboards, and demonstrations using a modern frontend framework.
- Research & Experimentation: Conduct research and controlled experiments to improve model accuracy, quality, and performance.
- Vendor Evaluation: Evaluate external models and providers against product requirements and measurable benchmarks.
- Documentation: Document model architectures, experiments, evaluation results, mobile integrations, and deployment processes.
- Code Quality: Participate in code reviews and maintain high engineering and reproducibility standards.
Requirements
- Experience: 7–9 years of relevant software engineering and AI/ML development experience.
- Programming: Strong Python expertise with experience in PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, or equivalent frameworks.
- Speech & NLP: Hands-on experience with speech/audio processing and natural language processing techniques.
- Model Deployment: Hands-on deployment experience using ONNX, TensorRT, Triton, or equivalent tooling.
- Android Development: Hands-on experience developing Android applications using Kotlin and/or Java.
- iOS Development: Hands-on experience developing iOS applications using Swift and/or Objective-C.
- Mobile Integration: Experience integrating REST APIs, SDKs, authentication, real-time communication, and AI-powered services into mobile applications.
- Frontend (Mandatory): Experience with React, Vue.js, or Angular.
- Cloud AI Platforms: Experience with AWS SageMaker, GCP Vertex AI, Azure ML, or an equivalent cloud AI platform.
- Containerization: Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
- Version Control & CI/CD: Experience with Git and continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Experience with real-time streaming using WebSocket or WebRTC.
- Experience building voice-enabled or AI-powered Android/iOS applications.
- Experience with mobile audio capture, playback, streaming, and speech processing.
- Knowledge of model quantization, pruning, and inference optimization.
- Familiarity with SIP, WebRTC, or PSTN integration.
- Experience deploying or optimizing AI models for mobile or edge devices.
- Experience with mobile application deployment through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
- Open-source contributions or research publications in AI, speech, voice, or mobile technology.
