Yellow Card is the largest and first licensed on/off-ramp platform for stablecoins in Africa. We are now expanding our reach into new global markets, evolving into a premier B2B financial technology provider. Our mission is to build the infrastructure that enables seamless financial inclusion and cross-border commerce for institutional partners worldwide.

Role Purpose

As the Senior AI Platform Engineer, you will be the hands-on builder responsible for turning our AI infrastructure strategy into a technical reality. You will execute the specialized engineering work required to integrate AI-driven workflows and internal tooling across Kubernetes (EKS), AWS Serverless, and local developer environments.

Success in this role requires a critical ability to adapt and learn; you will stay ahead of the curve as we integrate emerging AI protocols and evolve our platform to meet the high-stakes demands of a global B2B landscape.

What You’ll Do

  • Unified Tooling Execution: Architect, deploy, and manage internal automation platforms and AI orchestration tools across a unified technical environment, including Kubernetes (EKS), AWS Serverless, and specialized local deployment configurations.
  • AI Observability & FinOps: Implement scalable logging and monitoring for AI model usage to provide clear visibility into LLM-related expenditures and token budgets.
  • AI-Driven Automation: Build "Human-in-the-Loop" (HITL) processes to streamline broad operational workflows—including, but not limited to, infrastructure patching and maintenance—leveraging AI and automation to eliminate toil across the entire engineering lifecycle.
  • Custom Tooling & Extensibility: Leverage interface protocols (such as MCP) to build custom internal tools and API integrations where first-party or open-source solutions do not exist, extending the capabilities of our AI agents.
  • Usage & Cost Dashboards: Design and maintain dashboards that track operational costs across the organization, providing data-driven insights to leadership.
  • Reliability & Performance: Execute service capacity planning and system tuning for internal AI tools to ensure they meet high availability standards.
  • Security & Compliance: Partner with SecOps to ensure all internal AI tools adhere to rigorous security standards and maintain a minimal vulnerability window.
  • Internal Enablement: Create "Golden Paths" and technical documentation to democratize access to AI tooling and upskill product engineering teams.

What You Bring

  • Experience: 7+ years of hands-on technical experience with large-scale production environments and infrastructure.
  • Cloud & Versatility: In-depth knowledge of AWS architecture (Serverless, Lambda, EKS) and a proven ability to manage diverse environments, including optimized local developer setups.
  • Modern Tooling: Strong grasp of Kubernetes, microservices, and CI/CD principles (GitHub Actions).
  • AI/LLM Infrastructure: Practical experience setting up the infrastructure required to run, monitor, and scale AI-driven applications or internal developer tooling.
  • Technical Adaptability: A proven ability to learn and master new technologies on the fly, recognizing that AI-driven infrastructure and emerging protocols evolve rapidly.
  • Operational Excellence: Solid understanding of performance monitoring tools and a knack for troubleshooting complex production environments to maintain system reliability.
  • Growth Mindset: You proactively identify opportunities to upskill the team and integrate cutting-edge solutions that improve platform performance.

Perks & Responsibilities

  • Remote Work: Flexible, fully remote work setting.
  • Global Impact: Be part of a team shaping the future of global FinTech and stablecoin accessibility.
  • Autonomy: Direct ownership over complex projects, from the initial architectural design to global production delivery.
  • Growth: Continuous opportunities to upskill and explore cutting-edge tech like AI integrations.
  • Balance: On-call rotations designed with a focus on maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
