SENIOR ASSOCIATE - JOB DESCRIPTION

**About Us**

At Scimitar, we are a boutique consulting firm that partners with clients to deliver strategic insights and innovative solutions. Our work doesn’t stop at developing strategies—we lead our clients through implementation, ensuring lasting, real-world impact. Our culture is rooted in collaboration, entrepreneurial spirit, and continuous improvement.

**Role Overview**

As a Senior Associate, you will play a key role in driving the successful delivery of client projects while contributing to firm-building efforts. You will manage workstreams, conduct rigorous analysis, and engage with client stakeholders to ensure that our recommendations are both actionable and impactful. This role is ideal for someone with prior consulting or relevant industry experience who is eager to take on more ownership, deepen strategic thinking, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

**Key Responsibilities**
  • Exceptional Client Delivery: Manage workstreams within client engagements, ensuring quality, timeliness, and impact. Translate project objectives into actionable plans and deliverables that exceed client expectations.
  • Strategic Mindset: Support the development of project strategies that align with client goals. Anticipate implications of strategic decisions and contribute ideas that strengthen the overall direction of the work.
  • Analytical Problem Solving: Conduct structured, data-driven analysis to understand client challenges and develop actionable insights. Apply frameworks to synthesize findings and support informed decision-making.
  • Relationship Management: Develop strong working relationships with client stakeholders at the working and manager level. Establish trust through reliability, responsiveness, and professionalism.
  • Communication & Storytelling: Create clear, compelling deliverables and contribute to client presentations that distill complex analyses into actionable insights. Tailor messaging to suit different audiences and situations.
  • Teamwork & Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with internal teams and client counterparts. Contribute to a positive, inclusive team environment and support junior team members through feedback and informal mentorship.
  • Business Growth: Identify opportunities to deepen client engagement through strong delivery and insight generation. Support proposal development and contribute to internal IP or tools that expand Scimitar’s capabilities.
  • Proactivity & Self-Motivation: Take initiative to improve team processes, deliverables, and client interactions. Demonstrate a strong ownership mindset, driving tasks forward independently while seeking guidance when needed.
  • Resilience & Adaptability: Stay composed and productive in dynamic, fast-paced environments. Adapt to changing client needs and project priorities while maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism.
  • Humility: Demonstrate a willingness to learn from others, accept feedback, and contribute to team success over individual recognition. Support a culture of continuous improvement and mutual respect.

**Required Skills and Competencies**

  • Experience supporting complex projects and contributing to client relationship management, ideally within the life sciences sector (Biotechnology, Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, etc.).
  • Comfort working with AI tools and large language models (LLMs), including the ability to craft effective prompts and integrate these tools into day-to-day problem-solving and project delivery.
  • Ability to connect project work to broader strategic goals and contribute to actionable, value-driven solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills, with a structured approach to problem-solving and comfort working with data to generate insights.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a focus on collaboration, openness, and building strong working relationships.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a way that resonates with both internal teams and client stakeholders.

**Qualifications**

  • 3–5 years of experience in life sciences consulting or relevant roles in biopharma, medtech, or diagnostics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering discipline; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

**Additional Information**

  • Travel up to 80%. Actual travel will vary by client and project.
  • Ability to work across US and International time zones.
  • Candidates must possess US work authorization and fluency in English.
