The Opportunity -Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking a Senior Avionics Technical Offer to join the AH-64 Apache sustainment and support team. In this embedded role you will provide Avionics Engineering support within the Attack Helicopter Systems Program Office (AHSPO) Sustainment Engineering team.
Program overviewThe AH-64E Apache program provides advanced attack helicopter capability to the Australian Defence Force, enabling precision strike, armed reconnaissance and close air support. This program sustains a critical combat capability, supports interoperability with coalition partners, and underpins Australia's land and joint operations.

What you'll get to doAs a Senior Avionics Technical Offer within BDA, you will:
  • Provide technical support for maintenance, repair and preventive measures that ensure continued safe and economic operations of electrical/avionics systems for customers.
  • Acts as a conduit between engineering, maintenance and supply chain.
  • Communicate and work to articulate and resolve design and operational issues and concerns with Engineers.
  • Apply avionics technical knowledge to research, develop, test and evaluate operations, support programs, modifications, repairs and technical data.
  • Assist software, armament, and avionics engineering personnel with fault finding, troubleshooting and solution development.
  • Develop in-service correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Develop, maintain and release electrical/avionics drawings, systems designs or engineering documentation and data by applying company, industry and governmental standards.
  • Provides technical and task supervision in a single or cross-trade team, supporting both high-priority activities and longer-term tasks.
  • Required AASB Engineering Authority: Logistics Engineer.

Who we're looking for
To be successful in this role you will have:
  • 3 years+ technical experience in avionics/electrical maintenance and/or engineering teams at supervisory level
  • (Desirable) prior avionics technician defence service or defence industry/airline experience on rotary wing/combat aircraft systems
  • Meet Defence security and ITAR requirements.

  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.

  • Galipolli Barracks, Enoggera, QLD. With hybrid work options available.
