The Senior Azure Engineer will manage Azure infrastructures, resolve technical issues, develop training, mentor new engineers, and improve operational processes.
This is a remote position.
Responsibilities:
- Engineer complex Azure cloud infrastructures for internal environments.
- Manage, maintain, monitor and support our Azure environment to resolve critical and complex technical issues, leveraging your deep technical and product expertise in accordance with company security guidelines.
- Demonstrate critical thinking, strong communication, and problem solving skills, with the ability to preemptively identify and resolve issues.
- Develop, document and present training for the Infrastructure Engineering team.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineering team to not only support but deliver solutions and new capabilities to business stakeholders.
- Participate in recruiting, mentoring, and ramping up of new Cloud Engineers.
- Act as a technical escalation point within the team. Participate in case triage meetings to share knowledge with other engineers and develop efficient solutions. Consistently share best practices with team members and help document procedures and create knowledge base articles to solve/workaround current issues.
- Operational Excellence: Work with leadership on process improvement, operational efficiency, and strategic initiatives.
- Work across teams to ensure IT system upgrades, deployments and maintenance are conducted with minimal impact to the operation.
- Participate in short-term and long-term planning efforts with management.
- Stay current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to facilitate company excellence.
- Monitor production, outputs and services to ensure SLAs and other metrics are met.
Requirements
Our ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:
- Advanced proficiency with Azure infrastructure including: Compute, Storage and Networking.
- Data Platforms: SQL Server, Azure SQL DB, Azure Data Factory.
- Microsoft Certifications in any of the follow areas: Azure Administrator, Microsoft365 Fundamentals, Teams Administrator Associate.
- Deep Understanding of cloud computing technologies across Windows, with demonstrated hands-on experience.
- Proficient in PowerShell.
- Strong network, computing, and system management skills.
- Ability to learn new technology in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- 10+ years of experience in general technology infrastructure management, 5+ years with Azure.
- Experience in planning and assisting in the ongoing establishment and movement of systems and technologies from on-premises to Azure and the public cloud.
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
