Job Description

AECOM is currently seeking an expert in Pedestrian and Bike path / route and facility design in the role of Senior Bicycle & Pedestrian Route Design Engineer / Planner. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to an expanding list of related project work throughout the Texas and SW Gulf Coast Region.  AECOM's recent project delivery successes include the completed Lakeshore Drive (New Orleans) and Ave B (San Antonio) Bike / Pedestrian Path Projects. 

This role involves managing planning projects, leading technical efforts on complex tasks, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to marketing and client presentations within multimodal transportation projects.

  • Serve as Lead Technical Professional (LTP), and sometimes Engineer of Record (EOR) on a variety of multimodal bicycle and pedestrian path/systems planning and conceptual design projects.
  • Lead designers, planners, and technicians in completing tasks, providing frequent peer reviews on their work
  • Lead technical writing and development of reports and proposals
  • Lead marketing efforts for less complex projects and assist with marketing efforts on larger, more complex projects
  • Participate in relevant training sessions and conferences to stay current with industry developments.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 6 Years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • TX PE or AICP certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS in Civil Engineering or BA/BS in City Planning or Urban Planning and Design.
  • 7 + years of focused on Bike and Pedestrian Systems, Path and Facilities design and portfolio of multiple related project deliveries or active projects. 
  • Bike and Pedestrian focused designer, with experience on at least six active transportation projects.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with design decisions, costs, and standards for bike and pedestrian facilities.
  • Experience in both system/ network planning/ engineering tasks as well as the design of specific facilities (bike lanes, cycle tracks, MUPs, greenways, sidewalks).
  • Familiarity with 3rd party data sources used in network planning.
