Overview (Experience : 5 to 8 years)
At our client, operational leverage is won or lost in the details of workflows, SLA adherence, and compliance execution. They are transforming legacy, spreadsheet-driven processes and manual "swivel-chair" operations into a streamlined, automated operating model.
They are not looking for a passive requirements gatherer, they need a diagnostic owner. Positioned at the intersection of frontline operations and engineering, your mission is to dissect complex business processes, uncover undocumented business rules, map critical SLAs and compliance requirements, and translate them into robust functional solutions that reduce human error, improve efficiency, and drive profitability.
Success in this role requires strong analytical thinking, process optimization expertise, and the ability to bridge operational realities with scalable technology solutions.
What You’ll Own
● Functional Requirements & Blueprints: Convert operational analysis into flawless functional specifications, user stories, process flows, and rule matrices. You are the source of truth that prevents engineering drift.
● Process Inventory & UI Data Mapping: Lead deep-dive discovery sessions across Compliance, Operations, and Settlement. Meticulously catalog workflows and map required user interface data elements to backend logic.
● SLA Mapping & Performance Triggers: Track and baseline critical Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Define early-warning trigger logic for files approaching breach thresholds and build the structural framework to monitor operational velocity.
● Business Exception Modeling: Map where processes break down due to human delays or data gaps. Define the explicit logic required for automated exception-handling, moving the team from firefighting to proactive management.
● Operational Reporting: Own the design and execution of metrics reporting for core operations, processing backlogs, and SLA health.
Technical Skills & Tooling
● Process Modeling: Mastery of UML state machine diagrams to construct rigorous visual workflows, exception loops, and temporal SLA boundaries.
● SQL & Data Querying: Strong proficiency in writing queries (joins, aggregations, conditional logic) to profile databases, run gap analysis, and audit volume/quality metrics.
● Data Manipulation: Advanced Excel/Google Sheets expertise (XLOOKUP, pivot tables, nested IFs) to dissect bulk audit samples and extract clean logic.
● API Comprehension: Ability to read REST API documentation and interpret JSON payloads to ensure functional specs align with systemic integrations.
● ALM Tools: Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, and digital whiteboards (Miro/Lucidchart).
Who You Are
● A Process Investigator: You naturally pull "tribal knowledge" out of busy operational teams and turn it into hard, documented process standards.
● An Exception Thinker: You avoid the "happy path." You are obsessed with uncovering edge cases, turnaround bottlenecks, and hidden operational risks.
● A Functional Purist: You believe a requirement is only as good as its clarity. You group fragmented tasks into unified value streams measured by volume, velocity, quality, and cost.
● Experience: 7+ years as a Business Analyst, Process Engineer, or Functional PM, ideally within high-volume fintech, debt operations, or transaction-heavy ecosystems.
Why You’ll Love It Here
● Direct Bottom-Line Impact: You are designing the structural rules that directly dictate our company's scalability and unit economics. Your work goes straight to production.
● High Visibility & Autonomy: Report directly to the VP of Product & Operations. When you uncover an operational bottleneck, you have the platform and authority to design and drive the fix.
