The Senior Cloud Engineer at Dynatrace will manage Kubernetes-native services, including Kafka and PostgreSQL, automate workflows, and build infrastructure components, focusing on application integration rather than cluster operations.
Your role at Dynatrace
Our team builds and maintains the foundational infrastructure services used across the Dynatrace Platform.
We’re looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our Platform infrastructure team. You will be working with Kubernetes-native services and operators to deliver high availability data infrastructure components - including Kafka, PostgreSQL, Vault, RabbitMQ, Redis, and other critical tools at scale.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys developer side Kubernetes work, building Helm charts, building Terraform modules, automating workflows with GitOps, and contributing to operator code when necessary.
Your ResponsibilitiesMust Have:
- Proven experience operating Kafka in production on K8s (managed via Strimzi).
- Developer‑oriented Kubernetes knowledge (less cluster ops, more application/service integration).
- Scripting/programming expertise in Bash and Go (or another higher‑level language).
- Helm proficiency — creating and templating charts.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and GitOps workflows (ArgoCD).
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP (at least one).
- Basic understanding of Kubernetes Operator principles (CRD, reconciliation) and willingness to contribute to Golang‑based operators.
Nice to have:
- Terraform/OpenTofu experience (infrastructure currently partly managed this way - migrating toward more operators).
- Monitoring and observability interest/experience.
