Job Summary:

Our People Team is made up of Payscale’s People functions (HRBP, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, etc) as well as our operational functions (PMO, Enablement, Manila Site Ops). The broader People team is here to ensure that we balance driving a high-performance culture with employees having all that they need to bring their full selves to work. In particular, the Total Rewards team is responsible for setting a compensation and benefits strategy to help us build and retain best-in-class teams that enable us to meet (& exceed!) our company objectives.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Compensation Analyst to join our growing People Team. In this critical role, you’ll own and oversee compensation administration and execute strategies that reflect the future of work. As a high-growth company, we need someone comfortable being both hands-on and strategic, contributing to the design of scalable programs while also managing the details that keep operations running smoothly. Alongside the comp work, you’ll also partner across People Ops functions to support policies, benefits, and compliance—giving you well-rounded exposure to the Total Rewards landscape.

Key Responsibilities (Primary Focus)

  • Partner with HRBPs, Talent, and business leaders to align pay structures and job ranges across roles.

  • Ensure data accuracy and leverage benchmarking to recommend thoughtful, equitable pay adjustments.

  • Lead execution of annual compensation programs. Merit, promotions, bonuses, and market reviews.

  • Analyze and present metrics and insights that influence compensation strategy and decision-making.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders on compensation policies, practices, and market competitiveness.

  • Provide data-driven insights on pay trends, workforce planning, and budgeting.

  • Influence and advise leaders on complex compensation matters critical to business success as we scale.

  • Partner cross-functionally to evolve and scale Payscale’s total compensation strategy.

  • Act as both a customer and ambassador of Payscale’s analytics tools to enhance internal decision-making.

  • Ensure Payscale maintains competitive, fair, and legally compliant compensation structures.

Key Responsibilities (Secondary Focus)

  • Collaborate across Compensation, Benefits, and People Ops to deliver a cohesive, data-driven Total Rewards strategy.

  • Provide day-to-day operational support, including occasional coverage of benefits responsibilities as needed.

  • Support policy development, process optimization, and compliance initiatives.

  • Partner on employee education and communication efforts to drive understanding and engagement in Total Rewards programs.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive compensation experience, ideally within high-growth technology companies.

  • BA/BS in HR, Business, or related field—or equivalent experience.

  • Proven expertise in administering compensation programs, pay structures, and compliance.

  • Strong proficiency in Payscale’s compensation software.

  • Advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivots, formulas).

  • Experience designing and executing compensation philosophies responsive to evolving workforce dynamics (remote work, scaling, expansion).

  • Demonstrated ability to influence leaders and guide strategy at both the individual and organizational level.

Skills & Attributes

  • Analytical mindset: Skilled in using data and insights to drive strategy and problem-solving.

  • Service orientation: Committed to providing high-quality employee experience in all interactions.

  • Approachable & pragmatic: Empathetic, solutions-oriented, and trusted for sound judgment.

  • Detail-driven: Organized, adaptable, and effective in a fast-paced environment.

  • Influential collaborator: Builds strong relationships and confidently addresses tough issues to drive the best outcomes.

Why Payscale? You’ll join a team that’s shaping the future of compensation—internally and externally. Your work won’t just ensure accuracy and equity; it will amplify our mission to make pay transparent, fair, and motivating for employees everywhere.
