Lead client accounting engagements, mentor junior members, build client relationships, prepare payroll and tax returns, and ensure compliance.
Founded in 1950, Lane Gorman Trubitt, LLC is a middle-market, regional public accounting firm located in the Uptown neighborhood of Dallas, TX. We are affiliated with PrimeGlobal, an association of independent accounting firms. Currently, LGT has around 140 employees working in various service lines including assurance/audit, tax, accounting and consulting services.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Perform diversified accounting related assignments under the direction of director, principal or partner.
Essential Functions:
1. Lead client accounting engagements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
2. Mentor and guide junior team members in accounting practices.
3. Build and maintain strong client relationships.
4. Contribute to the development of tailored client solutions.
5. Coordinate phases of engagements including planning engagements, set budgets for time and expenses and monitor actual
performance against budget.
6. Prepare/review payroll, property, and sales & use tax returns.
7. Meet time budgets and client deadlines.
8. Process more complicated financial reporting engagements.
9. Provide training to client’s personnel for various accounting software packages.
10. Stay informed of industry advancements in client software platforms and applications that will promote efficiency.
11. Perform specialty projects such as software implementations, QuickBooks Online conversions, and ad-hoc niche specific
reporting and tax provisions.
12. Assist clients with audit preparation.
Required Experience and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or comparable (3-5 years) public accounting experience or, industry related experience.
Understanding of proper accounting processes, procedures and workflow. In daily accounting operations.
2. Extensive experience in client accounting services.
3. Proven leadership and project management skills.
4. In-depth knowledge of Cash vs Accrual accounting, and accounting principles and regulations.
5. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
7. Ability to work effectively within a client-focused team.
8. Ability to establish workload priorities and perform assigned tasks on engagements or projects in a timely manner.
Other Information:
-Required to be in-office (Uptown Dallas) or at local client sites 2-3 days per week, flexible daily schedule.
-Title and compensation based on applicable experience (Consultant, Senior Consultant etc.)
-Compensation based on working 2300 total hours annually, inclusive of PTO, holidays, training etc.
-Overtime required during spring/fall busy seasons.
