The Senior Digital Content Strategist/UX writer is responsible for developing an overall approach to content design - managing and leading content strategy, writing and editing content across uhc.com to drive shopping behaviors and member engagement. This role is critical to ensure content strategy and UX writing best practices are applied to guide audiences across the site to shop for insurance plan options, manage member needs, find educational content and more. The content design strategist/UX writer role will assure all audiences can complete tasks within uhc.com and across the UHC shopping ecosystem. It will balance the need to drive user engagement while achieving business goals, set by stakeholders across the organization

- UX writing to support sitewide testing and personalization efforts in partnership with UX design team
- Content writing/design for UX focusing on content flow, content writing and editing, both long form and micro copy
- Writing to achieve SEO goals, including writing content gap content and optimizing existing content to improve organic traffic
- Writing to support business initiatives and objectives, working with business leads to understand priorities and creating content to help achieve business and engagement goals
- Flexibility to shift from one type of writing to the other seamlessly
- Applying content writing skills to assure content aligns with UHC brand tone, voice and style
- Extremely strong organizational skills to manage a wide range of tasks and meet communicated deadlines on time successfully and independently
- Accountability to the team for collaborative work on all projects, being responsible to work together to achieve goals and be a content leader by offering expertise to guide content strategy for all work
- Writes and edits digital content, applies UX writing best practices to all content work across uhc.com
- Analyzes content opportunities and recommends strategies, interactions or approaches
- Consults on and offers recommendations on UX writing best practices to achieve sitewide sales acquisition, member engagement and SEO goals
- Acts as a content lead in assigned subject areas, working to provide solid content strategy guidance for all projects and acting as a content subject matter expert
- Testing and optimization collaboration:
- Offers UX writing recommendations and input to support testing and optimization strategies across the site
- Actively identifies new opportunities to test content with the optimization team
- Uses data analytics to make UX writing recommendations and enhancements and suggest test ideas
- Collaborates with UX design to meet deadlines and work together to achieve goals, while leading the content side of the work
- SEO collaboration:
- Writes new or edits existing content to target identified SEO priorities including key content optimization areas and content gaps
- Works closely with SEO leads to identify additional content needs and offers solutions to achieve SEO goals
- Brand team collaboration:
- Collaborates on content writing and editing for enterprise health and wellness, educational and content hub (blog) content
- Assists with routing content through review process for clinical and legal approvals as needed
- Enterprise-wide collaboration:
- Offers expert digital content design and strategy counsel to key stakeholders
- Works with internal teams and across lines of business to define and develop content design approaches and write and edit content to achieve campaign or marketing goals
- Provides writing consultation on projects and marketing campaigns, including content inventories/audits, concepts, wireframes, content decks, style guides and content creation

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of UX writing experience within a matrixed organization, ideally with an e-commerce background
- 3+ years of experience managing and prioritizing multiple deliverables and supporting multiple team goals, including testing and personalization experience and SEO
- Proven track record of leveraging digital tools to meet customer and partner needs
- Proven excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to clearly communicate insights and recommendations to various business stakeholders and collaborate effectively with teams across a wide enterprise
- Proven solid and complete online portfolio of work that demonstrates these qualifications, as well as the ability to present work, strategy and innovative approaches to problem-solving
