What you’ll achieve

You will act as legal advisor to Dell supporting our AI compliance and governance programs, in addition to supporting Dell's global IT organization. As part of this role, you will manage a variety of Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) and information technology-related legal matters, provide oversight for global governance and regulatory compliance programs, as well as partner with cross-functional business functions, including the Office of the Chief Technology Officer, the Security & Resiliency Organization (SRO), Product Groups, Commerce Services and Privacy. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting edge legal issues and gain experience and knowledge in the rapidly evolving areas of AI/ML, Information Technology and data governance.

You will:

  • Help support Dell AI governance and compliance programs, for both internal use and product development

  • Provide legal advice and counsel to Dell's IT organization on the development and enforcement of policies, procedures, protocols, assessments related to IT, data governance and security

  • Review and evaluate the impact of emerging AI, IT, and digital legislative, regulatory, and industry frameworks applicable to Dell

  • Coordinate and collaborate with product lawyers and other teams to evaluate IT and compliance requirements for new product launches

Essential Requirements

  • Must have a law degree from a recognized university and must be admitted to a recognized bar

  • Minimum of 8+ years law firm and/or in-house experience with experience in information technology and managing compliance programs

  • Familiarity with AI/ML, software development and/or experience as product counsel  

  • Knowledge of global AI and security industry standards and frameworks, information security and privacy laws and regulations (e.g. EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, ISO, NIS2, GDPR, CCPA et al)

Desirable Requirements

  • Regulatory interpretation experience as well as Legal project management experience is helpful

  • Cybersecurity and/or privacy experience

  • Experience in technology transactions, with an emphasis on drafting and negotiating, cloud services (e.g. SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, information technology and software licensing agreements, collocation agreements, software development agreements

Compensation
Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $196,350 - $254,100
