The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Take charge of a docket of sophisticated workplace disputes for employer clients, guiding each matter from early strategy to resolution in court or arbitration. Partner with senior attorneys to shape approach and deliver results, while also counseling clients on everyday employment law questions.

What you'll do

- Manage individual and multi-party workplace disputes, including representative claims, at every stage of the case.

- Own the strategy and day-to-day execution of each matter alongside senior attorneys.

- Oversee evidence gathering, conduct and defend witness examinations, and coordinate with outside specialists.

- Write and present important pretrial motions.

- Act as courtroom and hearing counsel, and lead settlement talks and mediation sessions.

- Get complex cases ready for trial or arbitration.

- Counsel employer clients in a variety of sectors on pay practices, discrimination-related claims and compliance.


Requirements

What we're looking for

- Eight or more years litigating employment disputes in California, preferably for employers.

- Proven ability to run significant cases independently from start to finish, including group and representative claims.

- Familiarity with individual claims involving discrimination, harassment and retaliation.

- Working knowledge of pretrial motion practice, specialist witness work and trial preparation.

- Comfort in front of a judge, arbitrator or mediator, and in taking testimony.

- Prior experience in a smaller, mid-sized or large firm on demanding defense-side employment matters.

- A law degree from an accredited school and current good standing with the California bar.

- Excellent writing ability for briefs, motions and complex pleadings.

- Strong command of state pay and hour rules and group litigation procedure.

- Sound judgment, strategic thinking and a polished manner with clients.

- A collaborative style with partners and colleagues.

- Existing authorization to work in the U.S.

- Base salary: USD 235,000 to 305,000 per year
